OT DAY 73 - To Be A Prayer Warrior with No Name Recorded (請按此處收聼廣東話Cantonese podcast click here)

Starting from three days ago we add one important thing to our daily devotion. We start our devotion with one to two verses from the Psalms to praise God. We always have so limited vocabulary when we want to praise God. Let's learn from the Psalms so that we can be able to praise God in a better way:

Out of the mouth of babies and infants,
you have established strength because of your foes,

to still the enemy and the avenger.        Psalm 8:2

Today's Reading: Genesis 24:21-48

Today's passage tells us about the secret to have a life of abundance. And that is, we need to have the boldness to pray and claim God's promise. Also, we need to have one or more of our "helpers" to pray with boldness to claim God's promise on us.

Let's take a look at what Professor John Goldingay says (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Goldingay) :

God has made promises to Abraham about the significance of his son, so the servant can pray with boldness on the basis of those promises
Jesus once told his disciples that if they asked for anything in his name, they would receive it (John 14:14).  It is a puzzling promise.  For many people, it does not work to ask in Jesus' name for someone's healing or for a job when you are made redundant.  But maybe "in Jesus' name" implies "as something that is or could be part of the achievement of God's purpose in the world."  And that kind of prayer does get answered
This servant is important, yet we do not get to know his name because his importance lies in what he does.  Perhaps he therefore does not mind that we do not know his name.
Being associated with the person God blesses and being involved in the fulfillment of God's purpose that is tied up with him means he himself has received blessing.  He wasn't seeking it.  He was just doing his job.

Everyone wants to be blessed by God, right? Have you got a new insight today to be blessed by God and to allow God to use you to fulfill His promise to bless those He wants to bless?

Let's have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through the passage we have just read. Offer this time up to Jesus as you listen to him, while listening to "Gabriel's Oboe":  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jmax47l2hLU

The title I heard from Jesus today is: To be a prayer warrior with no name recorded

What Jesus tells me today is an invitation for each one of us to be a prayer warrior following Abraham servant's model.  You would never understand how much we would be blessed if we become one of those prayer warriors who keep on praying for God's chosen servants to claim for God's promise on them.

Who are God's chosen servants? Well, you should know about that. Who are those people whom God has been using to build your home church? They should be the first group of God's servants for you to pray with boldness to claim for God's protection and blessings.

Franking speaking, if there are not numerous faithful Christians praying for me, my family and my ministry, I think I would have burned out or quitted long time ago, my wife would not survive her leukaemia five years ago and our two sons would not have done so well. Thanks for your prayers that we are being blessed! I am sure you are being blessed too because you pray for me and my family!

So, let's start today, I would like to invite all of you to pray first for your pastor(s) and leaders of your church. Read out their names each day. Please pray for me and my family too because you are being blessed by using this blog/podcast to have a daily intimate personal relationship with God, right?

Dear Lord Jesus,
Raise us up to be prayer warriors with no name to pray for your servants so that we are being blessed by you because of our boldness to pray for your servants. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
