Silence

1.   Put on your “brakes” and stop for a moment of silence
2.   Wait for God. Breathe deep for God's peace and feel His presence. Exhale your worries.

Praise and Thanksgiving

1.   Think through your day, all the times that made you smile
2.   Thank God for all those moments, and for all those people
3.   Open your heart to praise the Lord

15 Praise the Lord!
Blessed is the man who fears the Lord,
who greatly delights in his commandments!

Confession and Repentance (Subjective Shifting Devotion Method http://bishopsilas.blogspot.ca/2009/08/count-down-5-subject-shifting-devotion.html)

1.  Pray for the Holy Spirit to work in you:

“Dear Holy Spirit, shine your light into the places of darkness in my life. Show me my sins, everything that blocks me from encountering God. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”

2.  Through the Holy Spirit, examine yourself for a short silence and then pray:

"Dear Lord Jesus, thank you for dying on the cross for our sins and being victorious over death and sin. I confess my sin to you(pause, to tell Jesus what the Holy Spirit has shown you). Forgive my sins by your blood and help me follow you. Holy Spirit, fill me that I may be able to receive your gift to love God and His people. In Jesus Name I pray, Amen."

The Word (Joshua 8:1-21)

English(ESV): https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Joshua 8&version=ESV

And the Lord said to Joshua, “Do not fear and do not be dismayed. Take all the fighting men with you, and arise, go up to Ai. See, I have given into your hand the king of Ai, and his people, his city, and his land. And you shall do to Ai and its king as you did to Jericho and its king. Only its spoil and its livestock you shall take as plunder for yourselves. Lay an ambush against the city, behind it.”
                 Joshua 8:1-2

Let's have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through the passage of scripture we have just read. Offer this time up to Jesus as you listen to him, while listening to "Gabriel's Oboe"

My Listening
Do you know God used different strategy for Joshua to take the city of Jericho and the city of Ai? To the city of Jericho, the Israelites did not need to fight at all. To the city of Ai, God gave Joshua a military strategic plan. Why different plans in just a short while of time?

Let's see how Professor John Goldingay tells us:
(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Goldingay) :

At Jericho and at Ai God gave Joshua game plans, quite different plans for the two places, yet both expressing how it was not by military power that Israel was going to take Canaan. At Jericho the Israelite army had no role at all. God made the city walls collapse. In contrast, the Ai plan involved no divine intervention…Sometimes God acts by miracles, and sometimes God acts through human means…
How did God give Joshua the idea for the stratagem he was to implement? I imagine Joshua going to the meeting tent as Moses did when he needed guidance from God…
The Achan story has been profoundly discouraging…God knows Joshua needs encouragement. The Ai story shows that if you sort things out with God, you can have a new start. This motif recurs throughout the Old Testament and runs into the New…
There in the meeting tent God ministers to Joshua, and there in the tent Joshua has an idea. He cannot believe it is a coincidence that the idea surfaces when he has come to seek God's guidance about what to do now.

You want to know God's game plan tailor-made for you just like He gave to Joshua? Then you need to answer these questions:

Where is the meeting tent God ministers to you? Where is the meeting tent God gives His game plan to you? Do you know what Joshua did in the meeting tent?

I guess just like Moses, Joshua went in the meeting tent daily and sometimes more than one time daily. He knelt down to pray and worship God! Then God gave him His game plan in God's time!

God gave Iggy a new game plan for the parents of our Awana children. And, for our family. And, for you and beyond. "Family Time" half an hour weekly. Please read the guide carefully as below:

Here is a photo Iggy toke while Athan was reading a passage from the Jesus Storybook Bible (The Crossing of the Red Sea) and Michelle and I looked at what he was reading:

Our family enjoys this new game plan to take the intimacy with God and each others to a new level. This is only one of many new and wonderful new game plans God gave us recently after lots of our people start to copy the Bible daily, another new game plan.

So, how can you know God's game plan?

Dear Lord Jesus,
Help us to be willing to come to the tent of meeting you prepare for us each day to kneel down and pray so that we can receive your tailor-made game plan for us. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.

Reflect on these questions:
1. What is your usual way to receive God's game plan or you have your own strategy and game plan usually?

2. What is the difference between your own game plan and God's game plan?

3. What have you got from Jesus today?

Today's Time with Abba daily reading that I recited loudly and copy the Bible is:
Psalm 106:1-5
Isaiah 39:1 - 41:16
Ephesians 1:1-23
Proverbs 23:25-28
