Confession and Repentance (Subjective Shifting Devotion Method http://bishopsilas.blogspot.ca/2009/08/count-down-5-subject-shifting-devotion.html)

1.  Pray for the Holy Spirit to work in you:

“Dear Holy Spirit, shine your light into the places of darkness in my life. Show me my sins, everything that blocks me from encountering God. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”

2.  Through the Holy Spirit, examine yourself for a short silence and then pray:

"Dear Lord Jesus, thank you for dying on the cross for our sins and being victorious over death and sin. I confess my sin to you(pause, to tell Jesus what the Holy Spirit has shown you). Forgive my sins by your blood and help me follow you. Holy Spirit, fill me that I may be able to receive your gift to love God and His people. In Jesus Name I pray, Amen."

The Word (Joshua 6:6-21)

English(ESV): https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Joshua 6&version=ESV

So Joshua the son of Nun called the priests and said to them, “Take up the ark of the covenant and let seven priests bear seven trumpets of rams' horns before the ark of the Lord.” And he said to the people, “Go forward. March around the city and let the armed men pass on before the ark of the Lord.”
And just as Joshua had commanded the people, the seven priests bearing the seven trumpets of rams' horns before the Lord went forward, blowing the trumpets, with the ark of the covenant of the Lord following them. The armed men were walking before the priests who were blowing the trumpets, and the rear guard was walking after the ark, while the trumpets blew continually. 10 But Joshua commanded the people, “You shall not shout or make your voice heard, neither shall any word go out of your mouth, until the day I tell you to shout. Then you shall shout.” 11 So he caused the ark of the Lord to circle the city, going about it once. And they came into the camp and spent the night in the camp.
  Joshua 6:6-11

Let's have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through the passage of scripture we have just read. Offer this time up to Jesus as you listen to him, while listening to "Gabriel's Oboe"

My Listening
Today we see how God act after how God commanded the Israelites to prepare themselves before He acted. Let's have a revision to see how the Israelites acted obediently when God commanded:
1. Stay Holy if You Are to See God Act
2. Stay Close if You Are to See God Act
3. Stay Close, but Not Too Close, if You Are to See God Act
4. You Need to Get Your Feet Wet, if You Are to See God Act
5. Take Big Risk, if You Are to See God Act
6. Forget Not His Benefits, if You Are to See God Act
7. Circumcise Your Heart, if You Are to See God Act
8. Bow Down to God , if You Are to See God Act
9. You Do It Jesus Way , if You Are to See God Act
10.Wait for God Last Minute Instruction And Act At Once , if You Are to See God Act

Today's step is quite unusual because God did not tell Joshua until God's time. Nothing until the last moment. And, God's strategy is seemingly a foolish and crazy instruction. But, Joshua acted right away and all the Israelites obeyed Joshua's command and acted right away.

Jesus reminds me of these ten steps when I was preparing for today's blog/podcast. Ten steps and obedient act before God act mightily!

I have gone through many times of these ten steps in the past so many years and I have seen God act so many times.

How about you? Have you seen God act? How often do you see God act?

Dear Lord Jesus,
Help us to know that we had to act first before you act. Lead us into that intimate and trustful relationship with you so that we have the courage and willingness to act so that we are to see you act.  In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.

Reflect on these questions:
1. How is that ten steps to do with you? Do you understand more how to see God act now?

2. What have you got from Jesus today?
