Silence

1.   Put on your “brakes” and stop for a moment of silence
2.   Wait for God. Breathe deep for God's peace and feel His presence. Exhale your worries.

Praise and Thanksgiving

1.   Think through your day, all the times that made you smile
2.   Thank God for all those moments, and for all those people
3.   Open your heart to praise the Lord

15 The Lord is high above all nations,
and his glory above the heavens!

         Psalm 113:4

Confession and Repentance (Subjective Shifting Devotion Method http://bishopsilas.blogspot.ca/2009/08/count-down-5-subject-shifting-devotion.html)

1.  Pray for the Holy Spirit to work in you:

“Dear Holy Spirit, shine your light into the places of darkness in my life. Show me my sins, everything that blocks me from encountering God. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”

2.  Through the Holy Spirit, examine yourself for a short silence and then pray:

"Dear Lord Jesus, thank you for dying on the cross for our sins and being victorious over death and sin. I confess my sin to you(pause, to tell Jesus what the Holy Spirit has shown you). Forgive my sins by your blood and help me follow you. Holy Spirit, fill me that I may be able to receive your gift to love God and His people. In Jesus Name I pray, Amen."

The Word (Joshua 10:12-14)

English(ESV): https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Joshua 10&version=ESV

12 At that time Joshua spoke to the Lord in the day when the Lord gave the Amorites over to the sons of Israel, and he said in the sight of Israel,
“Sun, stand still at Gibeon,
and moon, in the Valley of Aijalon.”
13 And the sun stood still, and the moon stopped,
until the nation took vengeance on their enemies.
Is this not written in the Book of Jashar? The sun stopped in the midst of heaven and did not hurry to set for about a whole day. 14 There has been no day like it before or since, when the Lord heeded the voice of a man, for the Lord fought for Israel.
                 Joshua 10:12-14

Let's have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through the passage of scripture we have just read. Offer this time up to Jesus as you listen to him, while listening to "Gabriel's Oboe"

My Listening
Who would believe this? God made the sun and moon to stand still for Joshua to win a war? No way! But, why we have this in the Bible? Well, we have lots of theories and thinking.

Let's see how Professor John Goldingay tells us:
(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Goldingay) :

No doubt God could have altered the way the solar system worked in order to facilitate Joshua's expedition, but I can't see it as very likely, and I am more inclined to reckon that both Joshua and the storyteller are speaking poetically about daylight that seemed to last much longer than one would have expected.

John Goldingay. Joshua, Judges and Ruth for Everyone. Louisville,KY: Westminster John Knox Press, 2011, p.53.

Does Professor Goldingay said he does not believe this really happened? Well, he did not say that. The point is not whether we can get some scientific fact to prove whether this is real or false. The point is God can do anything to fight for His people. If you follow God as your supreme Commander, He can do anything to fight for you no matter what. After all, we do not have anything to win over Satan.

So, the point today is that God shows us His power and promise:
    Let go! Let me! Done!

Dear Lord Jesus,
Help us to trust you totally that you will fight for us and only you have the power to fight for us against the power of sin and Satan. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.

Reflect on these questions:
1. Do you think this supernatural miracle really happened?

2. What is actually the real message that we need to learn in today's passage? Do you think God really will fight for you in any circumstances? If you believe that, why are you still in fear and discouragement?

3. What have you got from Jesus today?

Today's Time with Abba daily reading that I recited loudly and copy the Bible is:
