2.   Thank God for all those moments, and for all those people
3.   Open your heart to praise the Lord

         Praise the Lord!
          Praise God in his sanctuary;
praise him in his mighty heavens!

                    Psalm 150:1

Confession and Repentance (Subjective Shifting Devotion Method http://bishopsilas.blogspot.ca/2009/08/count-down-5-subject-shifting-devotion.html)

1.  Pray for the Holy Spirit to work in you:

“Dear Holy Spirit, shine your light into the places of darkness in my life. Show me my sins, everything that blocks me from encountering God. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”

2.  Through the Holy Spirit, examine yourself for a short silence and then pray:

"Dear Lord Jesus, thank you for dying on the cross for our sins and being victorious over death and sin. I confess my sin to you(pause, to tell Jesus what the Holy Spirit has shown you). Forgive my sins by your blood and help me follow you. Holy Spirit, fill me that I may be able to receive your gift to love God and His people. In Jesus Name I pray, Amen."

The Word (1 Samuel 16:8-13)

Then Jesse called Abinadab and made him pass before Samuel. And he said, “Neither has the Lord chosen this one.”Then Jesse made Shammah pass by. And he said, “Neither has the Lord chosen this one.” 10 And Jesse made seven of his sons pass before Samuel. And Samuel said to Jesse, “The Lord has not chosen these.” 11 Then Samuel said to Jesse, “Are all your sons here?” And he said, “There remains yet the youngest, but behold, he is keeping the sheep.” And Samuel said to Jesse, “Send and get him, for we will not sit down till he comes here.” 12 And he sent and brought him in. Now he was ruddy and had beautiful eyes and was handsome. And the Lord said, “Arise, anoint him, for this is he.” 13 Then Samuel took the horn of oil and anointed him in the midst of his brothers. And the Spirit of the Lord rushed upon David from that day forward. And Samuel rose up and went to Ramah.                                             1   Samuel 16: 8-13

Let's have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through the passage we have just read. Offer this time up to Jesus as you listen to him, while listening to "Gabriel's Oboe"

My Listening

God did not choose any of David's brothers. Samuel had the gift of knowledge to know who God chose. Is that wonderful?!

So, when a servant of God says something to you inviting you to do God's work, do not say NO. How can you be certain that is not an invitation from God Himself on behalf of His servant, just like what Samuel did.

Then, if you allow that to happen to you and is willing to be blessed by God's servant on God's special invitation and mission, you will be richly anointed by the Holy Spirit in a way you can not imagine of.

That's how Archbishop Yong laid hands on me in 2001 at the Essential Conference at Trinity Western University in Langley. When he laid hands on me, he said, "Come Holy Spirit, pour down the same anointing of you to Elijah to Silas today to do your work." From that day on , I have been doing Elijah's work in a very small way to bring people to back to God and to prepare people not kneeling to Baal. I felt richly anointed by the Holy Spirit at that time in 2001 and being chosen as a leader to lead breakthrough in God's Kingdom together with many faithful servants of God.

God wants to choose you as He chose David and many of His servants today. Are you willing to be chosen?

Tomorrow is Ash Wednesday, the start of the forty days of Lent. Would you prepare yourself to be chosen by God in the coming forty days to do God size, Kingdom ministry?

I am going to put on this blog again as I did last year to have a forty days Break.Build journey. Let us prepare ourselves for forty days to be ready to be chosen by God as a Kingdom leader!

By the way, the forty days of Lent does not include Sundays. So, there won't be blog/podcast on Sundays during these forty days of Lent. Encouraging you to repeat Saturday's blog/podcast and to rest in God on Sunday.

    Dear Lord Jesus,
Lead us in the coming Lenten Season of forty days to prepare ourselves so that we are worthy to be chosen by you as your servants. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.

Reflect on these questions:
    1. What kind of quality do you have similar to David that God would choose you as His servant?

2. How are you going to prepare yourself during this forty days of Lent?

    3. What have you got from Jesus today?
