DAY 215 (2019) - Unwilling to tear your hearts and return to God, the consequence is to tear each others apart (Please click here for English podcast)

Silence

1.   Put on your “brakes” and stop for a moment of silence
2.   Wait for God. Breathe deep for God's peace and feel His presence. Exhale your worries.

Praise and Thanksgiving

1.   Think through your day, all the times that made you smile
2.   Thank God for all those moments, and for all those people

Confession and Repentance (Subjective Shifting Devotion Method http://bishopsilas.blogspot.ca/2009/08/count-down-5-subject-shifting-devotion.html)

1.  Pray for the Holy Spirit to shine on you that you are able to discover your sins and be willing to repent:

“Dear Holy Spirit, shine your light into the places of darkness in my life. Show me my sins, everything that blocks me from encountering God. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”

2.  Through the Holy Spirit, examine yourself for a short silence and then pray:

"Dear Lord Jesus, thank you for dying on the cross for our sins and being victorious over death and sin. I confess my sin to you(pause, to tell Jesus what the Holy Spirit has shown you). Forgive my sins by your blood and help me follow you. Holy Spirit, fill me that I may be able to receive your gift to love God and His people. In Jesus Name I pray, Amen."

The Word, Time with Abba (Psalm 82:1-8; 2 Chronicles 33:14-34:33; Romans16:8-27, Proverbs 20:19)

Today's main passages:

God presides in the great assembly;
he renders judgment among the “gods”:
“How long will you[a] defend the unjust
and show partiality to the wicked?    Psalm 82:1-2

24 ‘This is what the Lord says: I am going to bring disaster on this place and its people—all the curses written in the book that has been read in the presence of the king of Judah.25 Because they have forsaken me and burned incense to other gods and aroused my anger by all that their hands have made,[g] my anger will be poured out on this place and will not be quenched.’ 26 Tell the king of Judah, who sent you to inquire of the Lord, ‘This is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says concerning the words you heard:27 Because your heart was responsive and you humbled yourself before God when you heard what he spoke against this place and its people, and because you humbled yourself before me and tore your robes and wept in my presence, I have heard you, declares the Lord.   2 Chronicles 34:24-27
Let's have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through the passages we have just read. Offer this time up to Jesus as you listen to him.

My Listening
Today's Psalm 82:1-2 seems to name out the cry of many people for Hong Kong: "Oh God, how long do you allow the wicked to do their things?"

Today's 2 Chronicles 34:24-28 gives an answer to King Josiah and the Israelites, and all of us: "If you are unwilling to tear your hearts and return to me, the consequence is to tear each others apart!"

Dear Lord Jesus,
Help us to tear our hearts like what King Josiah and his people did to return to you so that we won't tear each others apart. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.

Reflect on these questions:
1. What kind of warning and invitation have you received from today's message ?

2. What is the next one step for you to tear your heart to return to God ?

Family Corner:
Find an opportunity to share with your family the importance of today's message.

Praise and Thanksgiving
Let's give thanks for God with us. Let us praise Him:
