Confession and Repentance (Subjective Shifting Devotion Method http://bishopsilas.blogspot.ca/2009/08/count-down-5-subject-shifting-devotion.html)

1.  Pray for the Holy Spirit to shine on you that you are able to discover your sins and be willing to repent:

“Dear Holy Spirit, shine your light into the places of darkness in my life. Show me my sins, everything that blocks me from encountering God. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”

2.  Through the Holy Spirit, examine yourself for a short silence and then pray:

"Dear Lord Jesus, thank you for dying on the cross for our sins and being victorious over death and sin. I confess my sin to you(pause, to tell Jesus what the Holy Spirit has shown you). Forgive my sins by your blood and help me follow you. Holy Spirit, fill me that I may be able to receive your gift to love God and His people. In Jesus Name I pray, Amen."

The Word, Time with Abba (Psalm 83:1-8; 2 Chronicles  35:1-36:23; 1 Corinthians 1:1-17, Proverbs 20:20-21)

Today's main passage:
10 I appeal to you, brothers and sisters, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree with one another in what you say and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly united in mind and thought. 11 My brothers and sisters, some from Chloe’s household have informed me that there are quarrels among you.12 What I mean is this: One of you says, “I follow Paul”; another, “I follow Apollos”; another, “I follow Cephas”; still another, “I follow Christ.”
13 Is Christ divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Were you baptized in the name of Paul? 14 I thank God that I did not baptize any of you except Crispus and Gaius, 15 so no one can say that you were baptized in my name. 16 (Yes, I also baptized the household of Stephanas; beyond that, I don’t remember if I baptized anyone else.)17 For Christ did not send me to baptize, but to preach the gospel—not with wisdom and eloquence, lest the cross of Christ be emptied of its power.  1 Corinthians  1:10-17
Let's have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through the passage we have just read. Offer this time up to Jesus as you listen to him.

My Listening
Today's 1 Corinthians 1:10 Paul says, "There be no divisions", the meaning of "divisions" in Greek is "tear"!

That's how it is like in Hong Kong recently! Paul found out the Corinthian church that he used 1 1/2 year to nurture was having divisions and was being torn into four groups! He pleaded them in the name of Jesus that they could not do that anymore, but to follow Jesus example of tearing Himself up and being crucified on the cross because He loved us!

Dear Lord Jesus,
Come to save Hong Kong in this critical time that people are not tearing up each others anymore. but to follow your example of tearing Yourself up and being crucified on the cross because you loved us. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.

Reflect on these questions:
1. What kind of warning and invitation have you received from today's message ?

2. What is your next step to pray for Hong Kong ?

Family Corner:
