The easiest way is to take one hour slot for the whole week. What you need to do is very simple. Choose one dayThe easiest way is to take one hour slot for the whole week to pray for me, my family and my ministry, remembering the ministry of ACiC(ACiC has two Networks: ACiC, Anglican Coalition in Canada and AI, Asian Initiative). You may use the whole hour in prayer or you can still do you work in your office but use as much time as you can to pray and the other time work prayerfully that hour to pray for our ministry. This campaign is also to teach you that you need somebody to pray for you daily. I have been prayed for hourly the past 1,100 days and I have never experienced this kind of peace and protection before. It's just beyond words can express. If I did not listen and obey to Jesus call 1,100 days ago to start this prayer movement, I think I would be pulled into darkness and discouragement already! I deeply believe that this is a way to draw as many participation as we can in prayers. I encourage you to participate. We need you to join us! Trust in the power of prayers!

Today's Reading: Matthew 8: 23-27

Bible Study

What Jesus demonstrates here in this passage is that he is not only a prophet, a teacher, a healer but also the one who has authority over the winds, the waves and the natural elements.

N.T. Wright gives us two very good questions for a deeper meaning of this passage. He says:
Jesus wants us to ask two questions for ourselves.  First, how do we regard Jesus? It's all very well to say in church, or in private devotion, that he's the son of God, the Lord, the Messiah, or whatever.  Do we actually treat him as if he's got authority over every aspect of our lives and our world? Second, are we as his followers acting in such a way, in our confrontations with evil, our bold announcements of the kingdom, that other people say of us, "What sort of people can they be?"

Let's have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through the passage of scripture we have just read. Offer this time up to Jesus as you listen to him, while listening to "Chariots of Fire"

Spiritual Journal

What I heard from Jesus today is: How to survive a tragedy!

Today I heard a bad news that there was a severe tragedy in Hong Kong yesterday that 38 people including some children died when two medium size boats collided. One sank in two minutes. The whole Hong Kong is in mourning.

Today's passage is about the power of the sea and how Jesus has authority over the power of the sea. What I received from Jesus is that what if we were one of the parents whose child or children died in this tragedy? Do you still believe in Jesus as your Lord? Can you overcome your anger, doubt and depression?

You will never know whether Jesus is really your Lord until those moments come.  And if you really have Jesus as Lord then Jesus can calm the storm in your life no matter what and other people would say, "Wow! What sort of people can they be?"

When Michelle got leukemia in April 2010 we did not know whether Michelle was going to die or not. That was such a big examination paper for Michelle, Ignatius, Athanasius and me. I still remember at that time I was teaching Athanasius and his friend Vance daily devotion. I was with them two and a half years teaching them daily devotion. One time I looked at Athan's spiritual journal he wrote:
Lord Jesus, help me to stand firm when that day comes!" And I know that he was expecting his mom to die and he still can stand firm. Praise the Lord that those few critical months are perhaps the best months for all four of us that we experienced a strong presence of the Lord. And some people told us afterwards that they asked the same question as N.T. Wright says: what sort of people can they be?

So, how to survive a tragedy? Only if Jesus is your real Lord then you can survive a tragedy, not only you can survive but God can make use of that tragedy and you to have miracles! Yes, miracles!

Jesus is Lord! Remember, Jesus is Lord!

Dear Lord Jesus,
Help us to know to have you as our Lord is the only way to survive a tragedy.  In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
