Bible Study
Yesterday we read how Jesus sent out the Twelve and we may be so willing to be sent by Jesus too. But, Jesus suddenly changed his tone telling them and us that his sending is somewhat like sending sheep surrounded by wolves! And he asked them to be as shrewd as snakes and as innocent as doves.
Are we going to face with the same adversity that those we trust and love will turn around and accuse us? Yes, Jesus said it would happen and ask us to be patient. Patient until when?
Let's have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through the passage of scripture we have just read. Offer this time up to Jesus as you listen to him, while listening to "Gabriel's Oboe"
Spiritual Journal
What I heard from Jesus today is: Sheep surrounded by wolves! Sure lose? Sure win!
What I got today from Jesus is the answer to the question I gave before we listen to Gabriel's Oboe from the movie "Mission".
What can those sheep do when they are surrounded by wolves? They don't need to do anything and they can't do anything. It's their shepherd's job to drive the wolves away, right?
Sooner of later we might have the honor to experience what Jesus said in this passage that we would be betray, rebel against, hate and even put to death. We do not need to do anything and we cannot do anything. It's Jesus job to save you because he is your shepherd. The real question is, do you have the Good Shepherd around you or you are already too far away from him?
Having a daily intimate personal relationship with Jesus is the only way to get away from those wolves!
Dear Lord Jesus,
Help us to be willing to follow you as your sheep and that we do not need to worry if someday we are being surrounded by wolves. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
