Bible Study
This passage is talking about who John the Baptist is and how should we follow his good example to prepare the way for Jesus. There are three things:
1. His simple and not luxury lifestyle.
2. His effort of forcefully prepare the way for Jesus.
3. His anointing similar to the prophet Elijah.
4. His call to lead people forcefully advancing to the Kingdom of heaven.
Each one of Jesus disciples, that is you and me are being called by Jesus to follow these four anointed characters to prepare the way for Jesus.
How much do you know about these four characters?
How well have you been living out these four characters?
Let's have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through the passage of scripture we have just read. Offer this time up to Jesus as you listen to him, while listening to "Gabriel's Oboe"

What I heard from Jesus today is: Forcefully prepare the way for me!
What I got today from Jesus is a call of character building. We know that we need to have a lifestyle of Christlikeness. But, do you know as a pioneer to prepare the way for Jesus we need to be a John the Baptist if we are moving forward towards the path of Christlikeness.
It's not easy because you can see how John forcefully prepared the way for Jesus. You also need to know this kind of forcefulness help people to understand what Jesus says today that "the kingdom of heaven has been forcefully advancing".
You, forcefully prepare the way for Jesus.
They, following you can be able to forcefully advance into the kingdom of heaven!
Dear Lord Jesus,
Lead us to be able to forcefully prepare the way for you so that others can be able to forcefully advance into the kingdom of heaven. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
