Bible Study

Jesus gives us another picture of how good and powerful are the seeds and how much it can grow like the mustard seed and the yeast. Another way of letting us to understand the enormous growth of a hundred, sixty and thirty times(folds).

On the other hand, Jesus also gives us a new picture to see the real spiritual warfare around us. Satan has been trying all his best to sow weeds surrounding us chocking the growth. Lots of time we don't understand why those evil people on earth or those wolfs with a sheep's skin can have great success.  But, when time comes, God will take them away!

The seeds are God's word and we need to try out best to let the seeds grow in us and in other people's lives so that we can witness the power of Christlikeness. But, do you know what are the weeds? Can you identify the weeds? What can you do to prevent those weeds to grow in you?

Let's have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through the passage of scripture we have just read. Offer this time up to Jesus as you listen to him, while listening to "Gabriel's Oboe"

Spiritual Journal

What I heard from Jesus today is: Seeds in, weeds out!

What I got today from Jesus is a very simple strategy to live a good and full life: seeds in, weeds out!

We have to try all our best to let the seeds, the word of God, to grow in us. That should include our daily intimate personal relationship with Jesus through the Bible, study, serving others.

Today I have the honor to have Rev.Dr. Paul Chung Chi Ng to come to my sister's home in Hong Kong and take me to a remote place up in the mountain(Dai Mo Shan)for an old style Chinese breakfast. And Rev. Youngman Chan joined us too! Rev. Ng told me that there are more and more people from his church joining their weekly prayer meeting and they only pray for three things:
1. Focusing God
2. Loving God
3. Serving God

What I got from Rev. Ng's sharing is that when the seeds grow then we will live out these three goals. But, when the weeds grow in us then we will do the opposite to these three:
1. Focusing on "me", other gods, people and things
2. Loving "me", other gods, people and things
3. Serving "me", other gods, people and things

Remember, seeds in, weeds out!

By the way, I have a good news that Rev. Dr. Paul Ng will come to Emmanuel 330 on Nov. 14(Wed) 3:30p.m. and Richmond Emmanuel Church on Nov. 15(Thur) 8p.m. to give us a talk and pray for us.
The title for the talk in Emmanuel 330 is:

Focusing, Loving and Serving God

The title for the talk in REC is:
Prayers, Uplifting Prayers 祈禱,載祈禱

Dear Lord Jesus,
Help us to be able to discern the seeds and the weeds and to try our best to let the seeds grow in us.  In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
