Bible Study

Today's passage shows a vivid and classic example of what does it means by listen and obey. The eleven apostles and some other people obeyed what Jesus told them to wait for the Holy Spirit to come and they just waited. A kind of waiting that could not tell how long were they going to wait. They just waited until the Holy Spirit came. We know now it is ten days but they did not know. They just waited until the Holy Spirit came.

How long did you wait until the Holy Spirit come in to your life? How long do you wait until the Holy Spirit fills you each day?

Let's have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through the passage of scripture we have just read. Offer this time up to Jesus as you listen to him, while listening to "Gabriel's Oboe"

What I heard from Jesus today is: Don't be lazy! Wait for the Holy Spirit each day!

What I got from Jesus today is a very important and practical guidance for our daily living. That's why we need to have a daily intimate personal relationship with Jesus. Because when we have that relationship with our Lord, the Holy Spirit will come to fill us each day.

That's how Jesus did His time with God of how He prayed each day. You need to know that as a Jew, Jesus and all Jews prayed a few time each day. For most of the Jews, their prayers were a kind of obligation. For Jesus, it was a time of His intimate personal relationship with the Father. That is why His disciples asked Him to teach them to pray because they felt there was always something different after Jesus prayed. Jesus waited everyday and He commanded His apostles and disciples to wait.

So, don't be lazy! Wait for the Holy Spirit each day!

Come Holy Spirit come,

Lead us to be able to wait for you so that we can be filled by you each day. Come, Holy Spirit, fill us and pour down your fresh anointing on us now. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
