Do you know what would happen to your life when you live out the four marks of the church(Teaching, Fellowship, Worship, Prayers)? You will be empowered by the Holy Spirit like what Peter and John experienced to bring healing to other people. This is what this passage is about. Jesus demonstrated how He exercised healing. Then His disciples followed His way and did the same thing. We as disciples of Jesus should be able to do the same thing. The question is: Do you believe that you can bring healing to other people?

It is clearly states in this passage that the power is not from Jesus' apostles or any other disciples of Jesus. The power is in those who are filled by the Holy Spirit and be willing to exercise the gift of the Holy Spirit in the name of Jesus.

Today is the Day of Pentecost. A very special day to receive the power and gifts of the Holy Spirit. Are you ready?

Let's have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through the passage of scripture we have just read. Offer this time up to Jesus as you listen to him, while listening to "Gabriel's Oboe"

What I heard from Jesus today is: Be ready to exercise the gifts of the Holy Spirit

What I got from Jesus today is a call to you to courageously exercise the gifts of the Holy Spirit, especially the gift of healing. There are so many people out there waiting to be healed. Leslie is one of them. Ignatius and I went to lay hands on him yesterday in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Michelle and I will go to pray for him today in the evening. We are willing to exercise the gift of healing although we do not know whether he can be healed or not. The point is we are willing to pray for him and to courageously exercising the gift of healing.

There is a very special word in verse 4 "Peter looked straight at him, as did John." This word "looked straight" means that Peter and John were exercising the gift of discernment to discern what the Holy Spirit wanted them to do. There are two gifts of the Holy Spirit exercised here in this passage. First the discernment, then the healing. Have you experienced that? I always experience that, many times every week.

How do you know if you have the gift of healing? Very easy, pray for more people and do the same thing as Peter and John did in today's passage. Then, if people are being healed after you prayed for them, then you might receive the gift of healing. It would be a big waste if the Holy Spirit gives you the gift of healing and you do not have the courage to exercise it.

Come Holy Spirt, come,
Fill us and pour down your fresh anointing on us. Help us to know what kinds of gifts you have given us and lead us to have the courage to exercise those gifts so that more people will be healed and be free. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
