Bible Study

Peter quoting Psalm 16 and Psalm 110 to tell the Jews that Jesus is the Messiah they are long waiting for and the Lord, but they killed Him. How could human beings kill the Messiah? How could human beings kill God?

N.T. Wright gives us a profound and simple message (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/N._T._Wright):
Acts does not, at this point offer a developed 'theology of the cross' such as we find in Paul, Hebrews and other writers later on.  What it does is simply to say: (a) God intended Jesus to die as the climax of his rescue operation; (b) the intentions and actions that sent Jesus to his death were desperately wicked.  This doesn't for a moment justify the wickedness.  Rather, it declares that God, knowing how powerful that wickedness was, had long planned to nullify its power by taking its full force upon himself, in the person of his Messiah, the man in whom God himself would be embodied.

N.T. Wright. Acts for Everyone, Part 1. Louisville,KY:Westminster         John Knox Press, 2008, p.39.

We are created in the image of God. Sadly, everyone wants to be God, Lord and king. Killing in order to get the "lordship" lording other people not only happens to human history, it happens to the fight of lordship of most husbands and wives, parents and their children, fellow colleagues, pastors and leaders and many more.

Jesus is your Lord and King! Don't kill Him! Don't kill each others!

Let's have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through the passage of scripture we have just read. Offer this time up to Jesus as you listen to him, while listening to "Gabriel's Oboe"

Spiritual Journal

What I heard from Jesus today is: Jesus is your Lord and King! Don't kill Him!

Do you think you can kill your Lord and King whose name is Jesus? Well, yes and no. Killing is to make a kind of eternal separation from someone. Actually you do not need to physically kill someone but just cut all kinds of relationship with someone and you "kill" him.

Why we want to separate from the real Lord and King? Why human being is so foolish to do that? The only answer is we are created in the image of God and we so want to be God lording other people including God. That's how Satan left his position as Archangel thinking that he can be God. And, Satan so, so wants you to follow his path to be separated from God as in the action of killing God. How to reverse this wicked process?

Making sure you have a daily intimate personal relationship with Jesus is the only way. No other way! Only if you can enjoy the relationship that Jesus is your Lord and King and you are willing to be under His lordship, then every distorted relationship will be restored.

Jesus is your Lord and King! Be with Him, listen and obey to Him daily! Daily!

Dear Lord Jesus,
Thank you for your dying on the Cross for us. Lead us to be our Lord and King that we can live and enjoy each day a wonderful and blessed day.  In Jesus name we pray. Amen.

Photos I took in yesterday's(May 15 Wed.) Holy Trinity Brompton Alpha Conference.  You can see Bishop of London standing and praying on the right hand side(in black suit by the window) while Pete Greig(Director of Prayer at HTB and Founder of 24-7 Prayer)invited all the participants to sing in tongues. Also, our AM team had a sharing and praying time at HTB, then a time to be prayed by John and Eleanor Mumford(National Director of Vineyard Churches).
