More good news for Leslie!

This is from his father Kenny's Facebook update published one hour ago(11p.m. May 20):

HB 152 BP 102/52 B) 98. The operation to remove the tubes for one machine(for circulation and oxygenating the blood) has finished and he was back to ICU. Still on one machine to help his lungs. Lung infection still under medication.  Other than moving his arms and legs(quite a bit), he's under monitor tonight after removing the machine. He's quite stable(though Heart Beat a bit high). Thanks God.

Bible Study

     This is a difficult passage to understand. We need some help from N.T. Wright's teaching (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/N._T._Wright):

     The ultimate promise of verse 21, that there will be a final restoration of all things, is firmly rooted in the Jewish prophets.  What has changed now is that the final restoration has already happened to Jesus himself: what God is going to do to the whole of creation, he has done for Jesus in raising him from the dead.  That is why Jesus now remains 'in heaven', in other words in God's sphere. Heaven is the place where God's purposes for the future are stored up, like pieces of a stage set waiting in the wings until they are needed for the final great act of the play.  When Jesus finally reappears, heaven and earth will come together as one, that will be the great renewal of all things...

     Because of Jesus' death and resurrection, anyone who turns away from the life they've been leading and turns to God instead,anyone at all can know in advance the joy of being forgiven, of being refreshed by the love and mercy of God, of discovering new life and purpose in following Jesus.

Spiritual Journal

     What I heard from Jesus today is: From wicked ways to Jesus' way

    What I got from Jesus is a call for us to turn from our wicked ways to Jesus way. Also, a call for us to help more people to turn from their wicked ways to Jesus way.

     These are two different and opposite ways. Peter and John demonstrated the blessing, joy and power of Jesus' way in the healing of the crippled beggar. They showed the people how wicked they were and what would be the result of their wicked way.

     How can you follow Jesus' way to help more people to turn from their wicked ways to Jesus' way just as Peter and John did should be your life-long purpose of life. 

         

Dear Holy Spirit,

Fill us and pour down your fresh anointing on us so that we can help more people to turn from their wicked ways to Jesus' way. Most of all, reveal to us if we are walking in wicked ways so that we can repent and return to Jesus' way. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
