Bible Study

Today's passage tells us about Peter described how Judas betrayed Jesus and his terrible death. Also, this passage tells us how they prayed, discerned the will of God and used a special method that the High Priest used in Old Testament time, a method commanded by God through Moses, to cast lots and chose Matthias.

No one is indispensable, Judas forsook his position as an apostle and Matthias replaced him. As Peter said, Judas was counted with them and he had his own share in the work they had been given. He was with Jesus all the time, just like the other apostles, and he was the treasurer meaning that Jesus trusted him in a special way. How can that be? How could he betrayed Jesus like that?

What have you got from Jesus today?

What I heard from Jesus today is: How could you not become a Judas?

What I got from Jesus today is a personal question that you do not know how to answer. Because you will say right away that you won't. But, if Judas could be a Judas, can you escape the force of the dark side?

Today when I took a hot bath in the hotel I read a magazine "Esquire". There is an interesting essay about the recent movies trend, it says:

Cinemas are going dark...Following the success of The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises(as all as the releases, in 2012, of Dark Shadows, Dark Tide, Dark Horse, In Darkness, In the Dark Half and The Darkest Hour), this summer we are to be confronted - after this month's Dark Skies, of course - with Star Trek Into Darkness...Later in the year, we'll be treated to Thor: The Dark World...Iron Man 3 will, we are promised, be the "darkest" in that series to date. As dark as Zero Dark Thirty? Wait and see, Darker than 2011's Transformers: Dark of the Moon ...

Wow! The whole Hollywood is in the style of "Darkness"!

How can you avoid the "dark force" and not become a Judas?

You need to know that the answer is simple - Jesus is Lord!
But, the reality and the practice is not so simple! Only if you can be with Jesus and be filled by the Holy Spirit each day, that you will be able not to be pulled into the deepest "darkness"!

Dear Lord Jesus,

Lead us to be close to you that we can be in the Light all the days of our lives. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
