Silence

1.   Put on your “brakes” and stop for a moment of silence
2.   Wait for God. Breathe deep for God's peace. Exhale your worries.

Praise and Thanksgiving

1.   Think through your day, all the times that made you smile
2.   Thank God for all those moments, and for all those people
3.   Open your heart to praise the Lord

           O kingdoms of the earth, sing to God;
                                  sing praises to the Lord,
33              to him who rides in the heavens, the ancient heavens;
                                  behold, he sends out his voice, his mighty voice.
                             Psalm 68:32-33

Confession and Repentance

1.  Pray for the Holy Spirit to work in you:

     “Dear Holy Spirit, shine your light into the places of darkness in my life. Show me my sins, everything that blocks me from encountering God. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”

2.  Through the Holy Spirit, examine yourself for a short silence and then pray:

     "Dear Lord Jesus, thank you for dying on the cross for our sins and being victorious over death and sin. I confess my sin to you(pause, to tell Jesus what the Holy Spirit has shown you). Forgive my sins by your blood and help me follow you. Holy Spirit, fill me that I may be able to receive your gift to love God and His people. In Jesus Name I pray, Amen."

The Word (Numbers 9:15-10:36)

English(ESV): https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Numbers 9&version=ESV

On the day that the tabernacle was set up, the cloud covered the tabernacle, the tent of the testimony. And at evening it was over the tabernacle like the appearance of fire until morning. 16 So it was always: the cloud covered it by day and the appearance of fire by night. 17 And whenever the cloud lifted from over the tent, after that the people of Israel set out, and in the place where the cloud settled down, there the people of Israel camped.18 At the command of the Lord the people of Israel set out, and at the command of theLord they camped. As long as the cloud rested over the tabernacle, they remained in camp. 19 Even when the cloud continued over the tabernacle many days, the people of Israel kept the charge of the Lord and did not set out. 20 Sometimes the cloud was a few days over the tabernacle, and according to the command of the Lord they remained in camp; then according to the command of the Lord they set out. 21 And sometimes the cloud remained from evening until morning. And when the cloud lifted in the morning, they set out, or if it continued for a day and a night, when the cloud lifted they set out.22 Whether it was two days, or a month, or a longer time, that the cloud continued over the tabernacle, abiding there, the people of Israel remained in camp and did not set out, but when it lifted they set out. 23 At the command of the Lord they camped, and at the command of the Lord they set out. They kept the charge of the Lord, at the command of the Lord by Moses.
                             Numbers 9:15-23

Let's have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through the passage of scripture we have just read. Offer this time up to Jesus as you listen to him, while listening to "Gabriel's Oboe"

My Listening
     We can see how obedient the Israelites is after all those rebellious moments and after how they suffered from those rebellious moments. Listen and obey it is for the Israelites to begin their daily journey. Do you know when to move and when to stay? When to do and when not to do? Learn that from today's message.

Let's see how Professor John Goldingay tells us:
(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Goldingay) :

     While emphasizing God's clear guidance, Numbers also emphasizes Israel's systematic responsiveness.  God made clear when Israel was to move; Israel followed. Even more significant and challenging, God made clear when Israel was to stay, and Israel stayed.

John Goldingay. Numbers & Deuteronomy for Everyone. Louisville,KY: Westminster John Knox Press, 2010, p.26.

      Do you think to know when to move and when to stay is difficult? No, not at all. It's  relational and not tactical. When you have that daily intimate relationship with Jesus, you know when to move and when to stay.

Dear Lord Jesus,
Lead us to enter into a daily intimate relationship with you so that we know when to move and when to stay.   In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.

Reflect on these questions:
1. Do you think today's message concern mainly with your daily intimate relationship with Jesus? Why?

2. How are you going to be more certain of your daily decision and journey after reading today's message?

To echo with the cloud covering the Tabernacle on the day of its being set up, Our Lord Jesus Christ reminds me of the double rainbow covering Vintage Garden Toronto and the new site of Toronto Emmanuel Church on April 21, 2015, evening on the first day for those new residence of our 1st Phase of 185 units to move in. 15 minutes(7:15p.m.) before our Board meeting:

Praise and Thanksgiving
Let's give thanks for God with us. Let us praise Him:
