Silence
1. Put on your “brakes” and stop for a moment of silence
2. Wait for God. Breathe deep for God's peace and feel His presence. Exhale your worries.
Praise and Thanksgiving
1. Think through your day, all the times that made you smile
2. Thank God for all those moments, and for all those people
"Dear Lord Jesus, thank you for dying on the cross for our sins and being victorious over death and sin. I confess my sin to you(pause, to tell Jesus what the Holy Spirit has shown you). Forgive my sins by your blood and help me follow you. Holy Spirit, fill me that I may be able to receive your gift to love God and His people. In Jesus Name I pray, Amen."
Confession and Repentance (Subjective Shifting Devotion Method http://bishopsilas.blogspot.ca/2009/08/count-down-5-subject-shifting-devotion.html)
1. Pray for the Holy Spirit to work in you:
“Dear Holy Spirit, shine your light into the places of darkness in my life. Show me my sins, everything that blocks me from encountering God. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”
“Dear Holy Spirit, shine your light into the places of darkness in my life. Show me my sins, everything that blocks me from encountering God. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”
2. Through the Holy Spirit, examine yourself for a short silence and then pray:
"Dear Lord Jesus, thank you for dying on the cross for our sins and being victorious over death and sin. I confess my sin to you(pause, to tell Jesus what the Holy Spirit has shown you). Forgive my sins by your blood and help me follow you. Holy Spirit, fill me that I may be able to receive your gift to love God and His people. In Jesus Name I pray, Amen."

Let's have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through the passage we have just read. Offer this time up to Jesus as you listen to him, while listening to "Gabriel's Oboe"

God with us, God as our refuge and stronghold is the only way to get away from those time of darkness and hopelessness.
If we are willing to be as close as we can to God each day and especially at those times, we can be as shrewd as snakes and as innocent as doves. Then we are able to have the Holy Spirit to speak through us to witness the power and authority of Jesus Christ our Lord. Then we won't be disturbed by the bad attitude of other people, even those who we trust.
That's how Jacob experienced! That's how Jesus told His apostles of what they need to do when those bad times come!
How much have your learned from his experience
Dear Lord Jesus,
Help us to prepare ourselves for those dark times because we are willing to be with you in all times. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
2. How are you going to prepare yourself for those kind of dark hours?
My Listening
To stand firm in the midst of being oppressed and in times of trouble is not easy. It needs lots of wisdom, perseverance and most of all, God.

Reflect on these questions:
1. Do you think you can handle those crisis as Jacob did? Do you think you can handle those challenges as Jesus told His apostles?
2. How are you going to prepare yourself for those kind of dark hours?
3. What have you got from Jesus today?
