Silence
1. Put on your “brakes” and stop for a moment of silence
2. Wait for God. Breathe deep for God's peace and feel His presence. Exhale your worries.
Praise and Thanksgiving
1. Think through your day, all the times that made you smile
2. Thank God for all those moments, and for all those people
"Dear Lord Jesus, thank you for dying on the cross for our sins and being victorious over death and sin. I confess my sin to you(pause, to tell Jesus what the Holy Spirit has shown you). Forgive my sins by your blood and help me follow you. Holy Spirit, fill me that I may be able to receive your gift to love God and His people. In Jesus Name I pray, Amen."
Confession and Repentance (Subjective Shifting Devotion Method http://bishopsilas.blogspot.ca/2009/08/count-down-5-subject-shifting-devotion.html)
1. Pray for the Holy Spirit to work in you:
“Dear Holy Spirit, shine your light into the places of darkness in my life. Show me my sins, everything that blocks me from encountering God. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”
“Dear Holy Spirit, shine your light into the places of darkness in my life. Show me my sins, everything that blocks me from encountering God. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”
2. Through the Holy Spirit, examine yourself for a short silence and then pray:
"Dear Lord Jesus, thank you for dying on the cross for our sins and being victorious over death and sin. I confess my sin to you(pause, to tell Jesus what the Holy Spirit has shown you). Forgive my sins by your blood and help me follow you. Holy Spirit, fill me that I may be able to receive your gift to love God and His people. In Jesus Name I pray, Amen."
The Word (Psalm 13:1-6; Proverbs 4:7-10; Genesis 42:18-43:34;

Let's have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through the passage we have just read. Offer this time up to Jesus as you listen to him, while listening to "Gabriel's Oboe"

My Listening
Today's Psalm gives us a very sharp turn in the midst of great danger and depression. We can see the first few verses with horrible hopeless words thinking that God deserted the psalmist, he will sleep in death and his foes will rejoice when he die. How hopeless it is!
Then a sharp turning into his counting God's blessings in the past bringing back to God's grace, goodness and presence! I think that's how Joseph experienced in the midst of his darkness and pain.
The most interest and powerful message of today's four passages to me is from Proverbs. If more people understand to listen and accept what God says to us will give us health and long life, I think there won't be so many people in sadness, stuck and depression. Again, Joseph is the perfect example as a human being to go through what it says in today's Psalm and Proverbs.
The reality is, not a lot of people believe that! That's why Jesus did not want to perform miracles in His own home town.

We need to understand the verse "to listen and accept what God says" is not only reading or even copying the Bible. It means you can hear what God is saying to you regularly and that you are willing to accept what He says to you and do it. If you live that out, the years of your life will be many!
Dear Lord Jesus,
Help us to enter into a true relationship with you each day that we are able to listen to you, willing to accept what you say to us and do it so that the years of our lives will be many. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
Reflect on these questions:
1. Do you think listening and accepting to what God says to you really can give you healthy and long life?
2. How can you be able to listen to what God says to you and be willing to accept what He says?
2. How can you be able to listen to what God says to you and be willing to accept what He says?
3. What have you got from Jesus today?
Let us praise the Lord:
