Silence
1. Put on your “brakes” and stop for a moment of silence
2. Wait for God. Breathe deep for God's peace and feel His presence. Exhale your worries.
Praise and Thanksgiving
1. Think through your day, all the times that made you smile
2. Thank God for all those moments, and for all those people
"Dear Lord Jesus, thank you for dying on the cross for our sins and being victorious over death and sin. I confess my sin to you(pause, to tell Jesus what the Holy Spirit has shown you). Forgive my sins by your blood and help me follow you. Holy Spirit, fill me that I may be able to receive your gift to love God and His people. In Jesus Name I pray, Amen."
Confession and Repentance (Subjective Shifting Devotion Method http://bishopsilas.blogspot.ca/2009/08/count-down-5-subject-shifting-devotion.html)
1. Pray for the Holy Spirit to work in you:
“Dear Holy Spirit, shine your light into the places of darkness in my life. Show me my sins, everything that blocks me from encountering God. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”
“Dear Holy Spirit, shine your light into the places of darkness in my life. Show me my sins, everything that blocks me from encountering God. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”
2. Through the Holy Spirit, examine yourself for a short silence and then pray:
"Dear Lord Jesus, thank you for dying on the cross for our sins and being victorious over death and sin. I confess my sin to you(pause, to tell Jesus what the Holy Spirit has shown you). Forgive my sins by your blood and help me follow you. Holy Spirit, fill me that I may be able to receive your gift to love God and His people. In Jesus Name I pray, Amen."
The Word (Psalm 6:4-10; Proverbs 2:16-22; Genesis 20:1-22:24;
Matthew 7:15-29)
Matthew 7:15-29)
Let's have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through the passage we have just read. Offer this time up to Jesus as you listen to him, while listening to "Gabriel's Oboe"
My Listening
Today's Psalm and Proverbs gives me a situation of life and death. See how critical it is when the psalmist pleads for God's saving act to pull him out of the dead. Then, Proverbs describes how critical and tempting it can be when facing with sexual sins. Sometimes there is just one step away to become an adulterer if we are not cautious!
When I read today's passages in Genesis and Matthew, what I have received is the word: YES, SIR! When God called Abraham's name, he said, "Yes, Sir!" And, he listened and obeyed to something no one would do, only crazy people who will be in jail for the rest of their lives for killing their own son!
Then I heard the key word "YES, SIR!" again in the passage from Matthew. You say, "Yes, Sir!" You listen and obey, they you'll prevail. You say, "No, sir." Then you'll fail, fail badly!
It is not easy for more than a hundred brothers and sisters to say YES, SIR! to Jesus the past year to come early in the morning to copy the Bible, pray and worship. There are more brothers and sisters do that at home because they are not able to come in the morning.
The fruit of our "YES, SIR" is that we are more and more closer to Jesus and we started a life renewal journey so wonderful that is beyond word can express!
May you hear God calls your name now and say "YES, SIR!" to His command no matter it is coming to join us or other things.
2. Do you think God is calling your name again now? What is your response?

Dear Lord Jesus,
Open our ears to be able to listen to your calling our name and help us to say YES, SIR to you. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
Reflect on these questions:
1. When was the last time God called your name? What was your response?
2. Do you think God is calling your name again now? What is your response?
3. What have you got from Jesus today?
