DAY 20 (2017) - Can We Find Anyone Like This Man, One in Whom Is The Spirit of God? (Please click here for English podcast)

Silence

1.   Put on your “brakes” and stop for a moment of silence
2.   Wait for God. Breathe deep for God's peace and feel His presence. Exhale your worries.

Praise and Thanksgiving

1.   Think through your day, all the times that made you smile
2.   Thank God for all those moments, and for all those people

Confession and Repentance (Subjective Shifting Devotion Method http://bishopsilas.blogspot.ca/2009/08/count-down-5-subject-shifting-devotion.html)

1.  Pray for the Holy Spirit to work in you:

“Dear Holy Spirit, shine your light into the places of darkness in my life. Show me my sins, everything that blocks me from encountering God. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”

2.  Through the Holy Spirit, examine yourself for a short silence and then pray:

"Dear Lord Jesus, thank you for dying on the cross for our sins and being victorious over death and sin. I confess my sin to you(pause, to tell Jesus what the Holy Spirit has shown you). Forgive my sins by your blood and help me follow you. Holy Spirit, fill me that I may be able to receive your gift to love God and His people. In Jesus Name I pray, Amen."

The Word (Psalm 12:1-8; Proverbs 4:1-6; Genesis 41:17-42:17
Matthew 13:24-46)

Let's have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through the passage we have just read. Offer this time up to Jesus as you listen to him, while listening to "Gabriel's Oboe"

      My Listening
There is a very powerful word spoke by Pharaoh in today's passage:
"Can we find anyone like this man, one in whom is the spirit of God?"

What is the spirit of God? It is the Holy Spirit!

The passages in today's Psalm, Proverb and Matthew is all about the power of God's words and His presence. If we are loyal and faithful to God, we are in his protection and provision.

If we take hold of God's words with all our hearts and keep His commands, we will live!

See how God protected and gave wisdom to Joseph. See how Joseph was filled by the Holy Spirit that even a foreign king recognized the Holy Spirit is in Him. See how the Holy Spirit gave him wisdom and all kinds of gifts to rule Egypt. Wow! That's the power of the Holy Spirit!

Do you think other people can recognize that you have the Spirit of God in you?

      Dear Lord Jesus,
Help us to be loyal and faithful to you that we can be filled by the Holy Spirit daily and that other people can recognize we have the Holy Spirit in us. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.

     Reflect on these questions:
   1. What kind of difference can you see in Joseph's life when the Bible is talking about the Spirit of God in him?

2. How can you be filled by the same Spirit Joseph experienced that people can recognize you are God's servant and full of the Holy Spirit?

     3. What have you got from Jesus today?

     Let us praise the Lord:
