Let's have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through the passage we have just read. Offer this time up to Jesus as you listen to him, while listening to "Gabriel's Oboe"
My Listening
When I read today's Proverbs I was thinking how much energy and money would people give if they can have all those good things as in that passage, wisdom, instruction, understanding, insight, direction, prudent behaviour and more.
No one can achieve that!
Only those who experience what Psalm 1 says and live that out.
Again, no one can achieve that! Because that is beyond human capacity!
Genesis tells us all, it is in God's creation that we should have all those good things but because we do not listen, we listen but do not follow and so we have to suffer the consequence of our rebellious and sinful nature.
Jesus is our only hope!
If we are willing to bow down and worship Jesus everyday and I am quite sure that we can receive daily instruction and direction and that we will prosper and bear fruit, much fruit!
Dear Lord Jesus,
Lead us each day so that we will prosper and bear fruit to glorify your Holy Name . In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
Reflect on these questions:
1. What are those things and people that you spend much time thinking that those things and people can give you the things that you hope for? How much time have you wasted in that way of living your daily life?
2. How does today's topic "Jesus is your only hope" give you inspiration and direction to start a new direction in 2017?
