Then Miriam the prophetess, Aaron's sister, took a tambourine in her hand, and all the women followed her, with tambourines and dancing. Miriam sang to them:
"Sing to the Lord, for he is highly exalted. The horse and its rider he has hurled into the sea."
Exodus 15: 20-21
What I got from Jesus today is: Don't forget your song of victory!
It so easy for us to forget how God saved us and took us out of our troubles. It's even more easy to forget how God used other people to help us to experience God. It is so powerful to see how Miriam sang and danced her song of victory. But in not more than a year's time as recorded in Numbers 12: 1-2 Miriam and Aaron spoke against Moses their own brother Moses. And God punished Miriam by giving her a leprosy or a skin disease like snow.
I have seen quite a number of times top leaders speaking against, badmouthing and plotting to pull another top leader down because of "money and power". Some of those leaders knew each others for so many years and when they attacked God's servants it was like they were attacking some real bad guys!
Why are we so absent minded forgetting our song of victory? How can Christian leaders look down upon, attack, badmouth, spreading rumours and trying all their best to pull other Christian leaders down? Who wins? The most painful death is to be killed by "friendly" fire! How can people forget their song of victory and those moment they fought together for Jesus? I just don't understand!
We will never understand but in God, everything will be "revealed" in His time!
Let's not forget our song of victory and never forget those who once sang the song of victory with us!
Dear Lord Jesus,
Help us never forget our song of victory and those who once sang the song of victory with us. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
