The Lord said to Moses, "When you return to Egypt, see that you perform before Pharaoh all the wonders I have given you the power to do. But I will harden his heart so that he will not let the people go. Exodus 4: 21
What I got from Jesus today is: Why so difficult, Lord?
Have you asked this question to God before? How did you feel at that time?
Well, I don't know how those difficulties hurt you or help you, but I know that God always use difficult situation to challenge His disciples as He challenged Moses here in this chapter. When the Lord called me to go to seminary my excuse was just the same as Moses, "Lord, I am slow of speech and tongue." Who can imagine after these so many years the Lord makes me a good preacher!
Moses might think why God had to harden Pharaoh's heart. Without hardening Pharaoh's heart Moses and his people would not know how great God could be.
So, next time you want to ask this question, "Why so difficult, Lord?", may be you can modify your question to, "Lord, help me to go through this challenge and lead me to experience your power."
Dear Lord Jesus,
Help us not to fear of difficulties but to face them as challenges to raise you to a new level. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
