"Anyone who curses his father or mother must be put to death." Exodus 21: 17
What I got from Jesus today is: Death sentence for cursing your parents!
Wow, is that too much? Death sentence if you curse your parents!
This chapter shows all those laws, rules and the "don't". Lots of those laws do not apply to nowadays situation but Jesus led me to think of why God put Honor your parents as the first commandment in the second part of the Ten Commandments. The first part of the first four is dealing with our relationship with God and how to love God. The second part is to deal with our relationship with people and how to love His people. The most important relationship of being a human is the relationship with our parents. Why?
What I got from Jesus today is the building up of our family is the most important thing in life. I have seen some famous pastors or Christians leaders who do not honor their parents or they have very bad children. God wants us to love our family, love our parents and teach our children to love us! One of the mian task for Satan is to destroy a family. Once a family is being destroyed than more things will be destroyed.
So, remember to honor your parents and teach your children to love you!
Dear Lord Jesus,
Help us to try our best to build up a good family system that we can love each others to be a good examples of your Kingdom ministry. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
