"Do not bury me in Egypt, but when I rest with my fathers, carry me out of Egypt and bury me where they are buried." "I will do as you say," Joseph said. "Swear to me," Jacob said. Then Joseph swore to him, and Israel worshiped as he leaned on the head of his bed. Genesis 47: 30-31
What I got from Jesus today is: Grasp God daily!
After that "long time no see" period of Jacob from Chapter 36 to 46, Jacob grasped God so closely in his daily living and his way of blessing people including Pharaoh. You can see that he blessed Pharaoh two times as shown in verses 7 and 10 and his will to be bury in the land God gave him and his way of worshipping God at the head of his bed. What I got from Jesus is when Jacob was "revived"(Genesis 45: 27) he resumed his relationship with God through his daily lifestyle, his worshipping God at the head of his bed or whereever he could worship God and his intention and authority to bless everyone even the king of Egypt.
Jesus also reminded me that Jacob demonstrated beautifully what it says in Psalm 128: 1
Blessed are all who fear the Lord, who walk in his ways.
May you be blessed in the same way as Jacob because you are willing to grasp God so closely that you can be a blessing to many people.
Dear Lord Jesus,
Help us to be as close to you as possible that we can be blessed by you daily and that we can become a blessing to many people. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
