Bible Study
When the Pharisees and the teachers of the law challenged Jesus' disciples of their not following the tradition of purity, Jesus challenged them on the real situation of their inside. Because Jesus says that "nothing that enters a man from the outside can make him 'unclean. It doesn't go into his heart but into his stomach, and then out of his body." (vv. 18-19)
The things within human hearts are those unclean things to make a man unclean.
How is your inside?
Have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through the passage of scripture we have just read. Offer this time up to God as you listen to him, while listening to "Gabriel's Oboe"
My Spiritual Journal
What I heard from Jesus today is: How is your inside?
That's a challenge from Jesus to all of us today. I have seen too many cases that you never can guess how dirty a man or woman can be until those dirty things and minds come out. And people would say, "What? How can that be? Oh, I'm speechless!"
Let's have a spiritual cleanness check up according to Jesus list now:
"evil thoughts, sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery, greed, malice, deceit, lewdness envy, slander, arrogance and folly." Mark 7: 21-23
Dear Lord Jesus,
We ask for your blood to come and cleanse us so that we won't have those unclean thoughts and deeds in our lives. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
