Bible Study

This section is the "show and tell" of how Jesus dealt with fear as a perfect example for His disciples to learn and follow after all those teaching about "no fear".

This is actually Jesus secret of "no fear"! You may want to challenge me, "Are you kidding? Jesus had fear?" "Yes, why not? Jesus is 100% God and 100% human. He experienced the same feeling as we all have been experiencing. He faced with the temptations that we all have been facing and yet he had not sinned but we keep on sinning if we have the courage to admit!

So, Jesus secret of "no fear" was His daily devotion. And, He brought His closest apostles Peter, James and John to have a "field trip" like a medical school Professor leading his or her interns to the ward.

We need to aware several important life-changing experiences happened when Jesus was having His daily devotion:
1. Light, brightness: When we come close to God His light will shine on us and we will no more live in fear and darkness!
2. Intimate chatting: Jesus could talk to Moses who represents the Law and Elijah who represents the prophets and both Moses and Elijah represents the whole Old Testament. So, when we open the Bible, we can have a similar chatting with Jesus through the saying of Moses, Elijah, Jeremiah, John, Peter, Paul and many others.
3. Direct confirmation of being in love with our Heavenly Father: That's how God told the three apostles and that's how God will give the same confirmation to us day after day that He loves us!
4. Prepare for the Suffering: We can find extra information from Luke 9: 30-31 to know what was the content of the chatting with Moses and Elijah:
Two men, Moses and Elijah, appeared in glorious splendor, talking with Jesus. They spoke about his departure, which he was about to bring to fulfillment at Jerusalem.

This is how God prepared Jesus heart that He had no fear to face the Cross, His death. This is how I have helped quite a number of Christians in their death beds a few weeks to a few days before they died to receive similar message from Jesus releasing their fear of death. And, I have seen almost all of them were being filled with a special light on their face, full of peace and joy to complete their journey on earth ready to go HOME! That is the most glorious moment if we have the faith and trust to allow Jesus to prepare such "departure"!

5. Get up! Don't be afraid!" : That's how Jesus strengthened His three apostles in Matthew 17: 7 and that is how Jesus wants to strengthened you today!

Get up! Follow my lead and don't be afraid! I am always with you!

Have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through the passage of scripture we have just read. Offer this time up to God as you listen to him, while listening to "Gabriel's Oboe"

Dear Lord Jesus,
Thank you for giving us the secret of no fear. Help us to get hold of your message today that we will never be afraid of anything and to walk with you to finish well on our earthly journey. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
