Today's passage is not easy to understand but once you know what Paul is saying about, it will surely have the power to change your life. How?
Bishop N.T. Wright's says (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/N._T._Wright):

Paul's point in verse 2 is that the Jewish people - his own people - had been entrusted by God with his "oracles' .  The Jews were truly called to be the light of the world, to hold in trust God's message for his entire creation.  And they were supposed to deliver the message, to fulfil the trust, to demonstrate to the world that God was God.
But they had failed.  They had kept the message all to themselves, imagining that it was simply a charter of privilege for them as a nation - as though a postman were to regard his bag of mail as a sign of what an important person he was, and therefore to refuse to deliver it.  Some, like the Prodigal Son in Jesus' story, had sold the valuable thing entrusted to them, and had spent the money (that's the point Paul makes in 2:21-24). But the point - the only point - in being a messenger is that you deliver the message as instructed.

What have you learn from this passage today? Have you been delivering the mail as a postman for Jesus? Or, are you a Prodigal Son?

Let's have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through the passage of scripture we have just read. Offer this time up to Jesus as you listen to him, while listening to "Gabriel's Oboe"

What I heard from Jesus today is: Mission accomplished?

What I got today from Jesus is a very important life-changing question. Jesus reminds me today of the title I received from him to complete my three years and three months first blog He commanded me to start in July 2009 as "Mission Accomplished". I still remember I felt so good and blessed that I could accomplished the mission Jesus commanded me to do in the midst of my most difficult time of my life. Our church had a major earthquake and my wife Michelle got leukaemia in that period of time. Yes, I got my mission accomplished! Please click this link to that very special blog and say a prayer for me today to thank God for that accomplishment:

Today's passage gives the most important reason for every Christian to be a good and faithful postman for Jesus to deliver the message to as many people as we can and not just sit there doing nothing but enjoy a club-style life as a Christian. Or, the worst case is to be a Prodigal Son!

So, who are you? A retired postman, a good and faithful postman or a Prodigal Son?

Dear Lord Jesus,
Lead us to be willing and able to be your good and faithful postman to be entrusted by you to deliver your message to as many people as we can.  In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
