Bible Study

Yesterday's message was quite scaring. You might not have to swim against the tide but once you become a Christian you will be facing those pressures and problems. So, today's passage give us an assurance and comfort. Jesus died for all and no matter we think whether we can be able to swim against the tide, that's not a big deal. The big deal is Jesus loves you, He died for you and we are in this reconciliation, guaranteed final salvation.

Bishop N.T. Wright's says (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/N._T._Wright):

The Christian hope, for the verdict issued in the present to be reaffirmed in the future, is based securely on what God has already done in the death of Jesus. The death of the Messiah on our behalf, when we were weak, helpless sinners, demonstrates how much God loves us; and if he loves us that much, he can be trusted to rescue us from the coming day of judgment.

N.T. Wright. Paul for Everyone: Romans:Part12. Louisville,KY:Westminster John Knox Press, 2004, p.82.

So, what have you got from Jesus today?

Let's have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through the passage of scripture we have just read. Offer this time up to Jesus as you listen to him, while listening to "Gabriel's Oboe"

Spiritual Journal

What I heard from Jesus today is: Jesus loves you

What I got today from Jesus is a wonderful love song singing on my mind: Jesus loves me this I know ..." Do you know why quite a number of funerals use this hymn? I don't know! What I know is this hymn has its own power to give people comfort and assurance. An assurance that we are in that guaranteed final salvation.

So, you are going to swim against all kinds of tide when you become a disciple of Jesus. Most of all, Jesus loves you and you do not have to fear whether you can swim that well or not. In Jesus, we are in victory!

Dear Lord Jesus,

Lead us to enjoy that kind of peace that only you can give. Train us and lead us to swim well against all kinds of tide and that we can glorify your name and your Kingdom will be extended.   In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
