Today's passage Paul gives us two types of slavery. Slavery to sin or slavery to righteousness. We understand how people can be enslaved by various kind of sins. But, how can we be enslaved by righteousness, God's standard?

Bishop N.T. Wright's says (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/N._T._Wright):
Think of the ways in which, in your former life, you employed a lot of energy in going after things which you now regard as wrong.  Are you using that same energy, imagination and initiative in working for God's Kingdom, in extending his covenant purposes in the world?

N.T. Wright. Paul for Everyone:Romans: Part 1. Louisville,KY: Westminster John Knox Press, 2004, p.112.

So, ask yourself now, how much are you using your time for God's Kingdom?  What is your answer?  You can find from your answer who is the lord lording your life actually.  We claim Jesus is Lord.  Is Jesus really your Lord?

Let's have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through the passage of scripture we have just read. Offer this time up to Jesus as you listen to him, while listening to "Gabriel's Oboe"

Spiritual Journal

What I heard from Jesus today is: How well are you using your time for God's Kingdom?

What I got from Jesus today is a series of pictures of those people I know in the past many years who experienced transformation. They use their time differently. I use my time differently.

Once we have Jesus as our Lord, we use our time differently. So, if you are still the same guy using your time for you own purposes, I have to challenge you today, are you being enslaved by all kinds of wrong things that you can not use your time for God's Kingdom?

Dear Lord Jesus,
Lead us to live each day to use our time for your Kingdom's sake.  In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
