Bible Study

Do you know what would happen if we are walking in the light as describes by Peter?

Let's take a look at what Bishop N.T. Wright says (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/N._T._Wright ) :
What it means is that when we consciously turn to the light - when we face up to what's gone wrong in the past and don't try to hide it, and when we are determined to live that way from now on - two things happen.  First, we find ourselves sharing that intimate God-life, not only with God himself but with one another.  Second, we find that Jesus' blood somehow makes us clean, pure and fresh inside. It deals with the nasty stain, the residual dirtiness, the scratchy, ugly feeling that something went badly wrong and we can't get ride of it.  All that is gone when we turn to the light and start to walk in it.  All because of Jesus.

N.T. Wright. The Early Christian Letters for Everyone. Louisville,KY: Westminster John Knox Press, 2011, p.136.

Are you walking in the light lately? How are you sharing that intimate relationship with Jesus and other brothers and sisters?

Let's have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through the passage we have just read. Offer this time up to Jesus as you listen to him, while listening to "Gabriel's Oboe":  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jmax47l2hLU

Spiritual Journal

The title I heard from Jesus today is: Walking in the light

The message I got from Jesus today is an invitation for you to walk in the light each day and for you to help more people to walk in the light each day.

The friendship, intimate relationship with Jesus that John describes is now extending to more people, not only with Jesus. What does that mean? It means that if Jesus is really your good friend, then you should be in a constant cleansing process in the blood of Jesus. This kind of purifying us from all sin leads us to be able to walk in the Light each day and that we can have a more and more intimate friendship with Jesus and more brothers and sisters in Christ.

Are you walking in the light recently?

Dear Lord Jesus,
Lead us to walk with you each day. You are the Light. Help us to bring more people to walking into your Light. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
