Bible Study

     In the letters of John to seven churches here in Revelation, there are only two churches that did not have any problem, the church of Philadelphia is one of the two. So, what did John want to warn them if they had no problem? 

Let's take a look at what Bishop N.T. Wright says (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/N._T._Wright ) :

     The time of trial is coming on the whole earth (verse 10), and like a powerful searchlight it will reveal who is holding on to Jesus and his promise of a 'crown' (verse 11) and who isn't.  The Philadelphia Christians are holding on at the moment; they must go on doing so, and 'conquer' when the time comes. So must we.

      Do you think you are able to conquer the coming time of trial? Or, are you in the time of trial already? What is your response to Jesus now?

    The title I heard from Jesus today is: Conquering the coming time of trial

    What I got from Jesus today is a challenge to all of us. We have read the previous letters to the other five churches and we know their problems. We all have our own sins and problems, right? Even for the church of Phladelphia seems to have no problem and they could stand firm against all kinds of dark forces and all kinds of temptation, whether they could conquer the coming time of trial as describes by John is unknown at that time.

    How close are you with Jesus each day is the only key for you to conquer the coming time of trial. Don't think that you are lucky and the time of trial just happens to other people but not you. No, it will come. When it comes, do you think you can conquer that? 

Dear Lord Jesus,
Lead us each day to be our King that we are able to have you to conquer the coming time of trial. Help us to admit that we are only human beings and we are not able to conquer that severe test. Prepare us Lord Jesus.  In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
