Bible Study

No one knows who Judah is. He describes himself as 'brother of James', which probably means he is one of Jesus and James' brother, or he is a brother in the church of Jesus' brother James who is still alive or recently dead. So, who he is is not important but his message of his letter is important.

Let's take a look at what Bishop N.T. Wright says (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/N._T._Wright ) :
The church has been infiltrated with people teaching what is basically a different message altogether.  And the ordinary Christians, with no long centuries of experience behind them in the church, are deeply vulnerable. If new teaching sounds exciting and fun, why not give it a try?
That, we assume, is why even in the opening greeting Judah speaks of Jesus the Messiah keeping his people safe.  He guards them…But, as ever, what God loves to do he loves to do through others, calling and equipping people to take his work forward.  And the way Jesus guards his people is, not least, by prayerful and accredited teachers encouraging them, warning them, sketching for them the bigger picture within which they can make sense of the puzzling things that are happening to them.  That is what Judah is doing right now.

N.T. Wright. The Early Christian Letters for Everyone. Louisville,KY: Westminster John Knox Press, 2011, p.195.

Do you know that Jesus is guarding you each day from the similar attack of the Deceiver? How can you take the baton from Jesus and His servants to guard the faith in this dark and deceiving world?

Let's have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through the passage we have just read. Offer this time up to Jesus as you listen to him, while listening to "Gabriel's Oboe":  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jmax47l2hLU

Spiritual Journal

The title I heard from Jesus today is: Jesus guards us. We guard the faith

The message I got from Jesus today is a reminder as well as an invitation to join Jesus' vast army to guard the faith. What I receive today are two steps:
1. We need to be in a close distance and intimate relationship with Jesus so that  we are being guarded by Jesus Himself. And, we won't be deceived to live on a distorted faith, a wide door and wide road but not the narrow door who is Jesus and the narrow road which is His path. There is no middle road!

2. We need to take the baton from Jesus and His servants who has been teaching us, loving and caring for us to teach and love others so as to guard the faith.

Yes, Jesus guards us. We guard the faith. Are you ready?

Dear Lord Jesus,
Lead us to be in your protection each day that we can be able to follow your example to guard the faith. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
