Silence

1.   Put on your “brakes” and stop for a moment of silence
2.   Wait for God. Breathe deep for God's peace. Exhale your worries.

Praise and Thanksgiving

1.   Think through your day, all the times that made you smile
2.   Thank God for all those moments, and for all those people
3.   Open your heart to praise the Lord

      I will bless the Lord at all times;
           his praise shall continually be in my mouth.
         My soul makes its boast in the Lord;
           let the humble hear and be glad.
         Oh, magnify the Lord with me,
            and let us exalt his name together!
                                                         Psalm 34:1-3

Confession and repentance

1.  Pray for the Holy Spirit to work in you:

     “Dear Holy Spirit, shine your light into the places of darkness in my life. Show me my sins, everything that blocks me from encountering God. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”

2.  Through the Holy Spirit, examine yourself for a short silence and then pray:

     "Dear Lord Jesus, thank you for dying on the cross for our sins and being victorious over death and sin. I confess my sin to you(pause, to tell Jesus what the Holy Spirit has shown you). Forgive my sins by your blood and help me follow you. Holy Spirit, fill me that I may be able to receive your gift to love God and His people. In Jesus Name I pray, Amen."

The Word

Please click this link to read Exodus 27:20-29:46

I will consecrate the tent of meeting and the altar. Aaron also and his sons I will consecrate to serve me as priests. 45 I will dwell among the people of Israel and will be their God. 46 And they shall know that I am the Lord their God, who brought them out of the land of Egypt that I might dwell among them. I am the Lord their God.           Exodus 29:44-46

Let's have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through the passage of scripture we have just read. Offer this time up to Jesus as you listen to him, while listening to "Gabriel's Oboe"

My Listening
      To build a place to worship God which is the Tabernacle, God needs the Israelites to offer their gifts and abilities, then they need to follow the pattern(the plan, blueprint) Moses received from the mountain from God. That's the previous two chapters.

      Now, God appoints priests to take care of the place they build to worship Him. Do you know the importance of priests since Moses time until now? Are priests still needed?

Let's take a look at what Professor John Goldingay says (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Goldingay) :

       In Genesis there were no priests, and as Israel arrived at Sinai, Exodus 19:1-8 affirmed the whole people's priestly relationship with God.  Then Exodus 19:9-25 referred to some people called priests, and now we find God issuing detailed instructions for the ordination of priests….
       God doesn't need there to be priests, but the people of God are inclined to shy away from too much responsibility or too much freedom in relation to God, and so with a shrug of the divine shoulders, God plays along with our need for mediators and leaders, appoints some, and seeks to get them to operate in ways God can live with
       Consecrating Aaron and his sons involves a rite of purification, to make sure of removing any taint that has come upon them through contact with something impure.

        We can see those expensive and glorious cloths those priests need to wear and how they need to be holy. It is a sign from God to the Israelites to trust their priests and be willing to be under their lead.

        How willing you are to honour your priests/pastors and to follow their lead is the key for your church to operate in God's way.

Dear Lord Jesus,
      Lead us to be willing to trust our priest/pastors so that our church can operate well in your way.  In Jesus name we pray. Amen.

Reflect on these questions:
1.   What have you noticed from God's way of honouring the priests in these two chapters?

2.   How well is your people honouring your priests/pastors? Why does your people need to honour your priest/pastors? What would happen if they don't?

Praise and Thanksgiving
