Silence

1.   Put on your “brakes” and stop for a moment of silence
2.   Wait for God. Breathe deep for God's peace. Exhale your worries.

Praise and Thanksgiving

1.   Think through your day, all the times that made you smile
2.   Thank God for all those moments, and for all those people
3.   Open your heart to praise the Lord

God is our refuge and strength,
a very present help in trouble.
Therefore we will not fear though the earth gives way,
though the mountains be moved into the heart of the sea,
though its waters roar and foam,
though the mountains tremble at its swelling.
                                                         Psalm 46:1-3

Confession and repentance

1.  Pray for the Holy Spirit to work in you:

“Dear Holy Spirit, shine your light into the places of darkness in my life. Show me my sins, everything that blocks me from encountering God. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”

2.  Through the Holy Spirit, examine yourself for a short silence and then pray:

"Dear Lord Jesus, thank you for dying on the cross for our sins and being victorious over death and sin. I confess my sin to you(pause, to tell Jesus what the Holy Spirit has shown you). Forgive my sins by your blood and help me follow you. Holy Spirit, fill me that I may be able to receive your gift to love God and His people. In Jesus Name I pray, Amen."

The Word(Exodus 32:30-33:11)

English(ESV): https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Exodus 32&version=ESV

Now Moses used to take the tent and pitch it outside the camp, far off from the camp, and he called it the tent of meeting. And everyone who sought the Lord would go out to the tent of meeting, which was outside the camp. Whenever Moses went out to the tent, all the people would rise up, and each would stand at his tent door, and watch Moses until he had gone into the tent. When Moses entered the tent, the pillar of cloud would descend and stand at the entrance of the tent, and the Lord would speak with Moses.10 And when all the people saw the pillar of cloud standing at the entrance of the tent, all the people would rise up and worship, each at his tent door. 11 Thus the Lord used to speak to Moses face to face, as a man speaks to his friend. When Moses turned again into the camp, his assistant Joshua the son of Nun, a young man, would not depart from the tent.
                                                                  Exodus 33:7-11

Let's have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through the passage of scripture we have just read. Offer this time up to Jesus as you listen to him, while listening to "Gabriel's Oboe"

My Listening
How well do you talk to God decide how well you are going to live your life. Do you think so?

Let's see how Professor John Goldingay tells us:
(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Goldingay) :

This story suggests how Moses might gain God's guidance…It suggests a model of Israel's ongoing life.  Ordinary Israelites could always go and talk to God at the sanctuary, as a person like Hannah does (1 Samuel 1).  Moses' successors, leaders such as judges, elders, priests, kings, and prophets, could always go and talk with God there, as Moses does, when they have to deal with issues that arise and they need to know what God will say to his people as new circumstances arise.  Their responsibility is not merely to work out what to do but to consult God about it.

John Goldingay. Exodus and Leviticus for Everyone. Louisville,KY: Westminster John Knox Press, 2010, p.118.

So, may I ask you one question:
How well do you consult God about things you need to decide today?

Dear Lord Jesus,
Help us to know that we need to talk to you, to consult you daily so that we can be able to do what you call us to do each day. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.

Reflect on these questions:
1.  When was the last time you talk to God and He answered?

2.  How well do you talk to God? Do you know how important it is for you to be able to talk to God daily?

Praise and Thanksgiving
Let's give thanks for God with us. Let us praise Him:
