Silence

1.   Put on your “brakes” and stop for a moment of silence
2.   Wait for God. Breathe deep for God's peace. Exhale your worries.

Praise and Thanksgiving

1.   Think through your day, all the times that made you smile
2.   Thank God for all those moments, and for all those people
3.   Open your heart to praise the Lord

Your steadfast love, O Lord, extends to the heavens,
                  your faithfulness to the clouds.
                                                         Psalm 36:5

Confession and repentance

1.  Pray for the Holy Spirit to work in you:

“Dear Holy Spirit, shine your light into the places of darkness in my life. Show me my sins, everything that blocks me from encountering God. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”

2.  Through the Holy Spirit, examine yourself for a short silence and then pray:

"Dear Lord Jesus, thank you for dying on the cross for our sins and being victorious over death and sin. I confess my sin to you(pause, to tell Jesus what the Holy Spirit has shown you). Forgive my sins by your blood and help me follow you. Holy Spirit, fill me that I may be able to receive your gift to love God and His people. In Jesus Name I pray, Amen."

The Word

Please click this link to read Exodus 31:1-11

The Lord said to Moses, “See, I have called by name Bezalel the son of Uri, son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah, and I have filled him with the Spirit of God, with ability and intelligence, with knowledge and all craftsmanship, to devise artistic designs, to work in gold, silver, and bronze, in cutting stones for setting, and in carving wood, to work in every craft. And behold, I have appointed with him Oholiab, the son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan. And I have given to all able men ability, that they may make all that I have commanded you: the tent of meeting, and the ark of the testimony, and the mercy seat that is on it, and all the furnishings of the tent, the table and its utensils, and the pure lampstand with all its utensils, and the altar of incense, and the altar of burnt offering with all its utensils, and the basin and its stand, 10 and the finely worked garments, the holy garments for Aaron the priest and the garments of his sons, for their service as priests, 11 and the anointing oil and the fragrant incense for the Holy Place. According to all that I have commanded you, they shall do.”    Exodus 31:1-11

Let's have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through the passage of scripture we have just read. Offer this time up to Jesus as you listen to him, while listening to "Gabriel's Oboe"

My Listening
Remember what the Israelites needed to build God's Tabernacle?
1. Giving money(gifts) and abilities
2. Following God's servant's lead

Today we come to the end of the instruction to build God's Tabernacle. Telling us the willingness to use our abilities is what God wants. Those natural abilities are actually people's gifts. Do you know what would those gifts become? Let's see how Professor John Goldingay tells us:
(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Goldingay) :

These are all gifts; they become spiritual gifts if you give them over to God.  In other words, spiritual gifts are not divinely provided add-ons supplementing what we would be able to do "naturally."  They are aspects of the way God in love and grace made us that can become gifts with which we serve God.

John Goldingay. Exodus and Leviticus for Everyone. Louisville,KY: Westminster John Knox Press, 2010, p.110.

There are three steps to have our natural gifts to become spiritual gifts according to this passage:
1. To be chosen by God and be filled with the Holy Spirit
2. To enjoy God-given team work
3. To do just as God commands

How well are you living out these three steps recently?

Dear Lord Jesus,
Help us to turn our natural gifts into spiritual gifts so that your work can be accomplished and your name be glorified.  In Jesus name we pray. Amen.

Reflect on these questions:
1.  Do you know your natural gifts? Have you given your natural gifts to God so that they become spiritual gifts?

2.  How well are you living out those three steps recently?

3.  Have you got any new inspiration today? What is that?

Praise and Thanksgiving
Let's give thanks for God with us. Let us praise Him:
