Silence

1.   Put on your “brakes” and stop for a moment of silence
2.   Wait for God. Breathe deep for God's peace. Exhale your worries.

Praise and Thanksgiving

1.   Think through your day, all the times that made you smile
2.   Thank God for all those moments, and for all those people
3.   Open your heart to praise the Lord

       Clap your hands, all peoples!
Shout to God with loud songs of joy!
                                                         Psalm 47:1

Confession and repentance

1.  Pray for the Holy Spirit to work in you:

“Dear Holy Spirit, shine your light into the places of darkness in my life. Show me my sins, everything that blocks me from encountering God. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”

2.  Through the Holy Spirit, examine yourself for a short silence and then pray:

"Dear Lord Jesus, thank you for dying on the cross for our sins and being victorious over death and sin. I confess my sin to you(pause, to tell Jesus what the Holy Spirit has shown you). Forgive my sins by your blood and help me follow you. Holy Spirit, fill me that I may be able to receive your gift to love God and His people. In Jesus Name I pray, Amen."

The Word

English(ESV): https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Exodus 33&version=ESV

The Lord said to Moses, “Cut for yourself two tablets of stone like the first, and I will write on the tablets the words that were on the first tablets, which you broke. Be ready by the morning, and come up in the morning to Mount Sinai, and present yourself there to me on the top of the mountain. No one shall come up with you, and let no one be seen throughout all the mountain. Let no flocks or herds graze opposite that mountain.” So Moses cut two tablets of stone like the first. And he rose early in the morning and went up on Mount Sinai, as the Lord had commanded him, and took in his hand two tablets of stone. The Lord descended in the cloud and stood with him there, and proclaimed the name of the Lord. The Lord passed before him and proclaimed, “The Lord, the Lord, a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness, keeping steadfast love for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, but who will by no means clear the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children and the children's children, to the third and the fourth generation.”
                                                                  Exodus 34:1-7

Let's have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through the passage of scripture we have just read. Offer this time up to Jesus as you listen to him, while listening to "Gabriel's Oboe"

My Listening
The Israelites committed the most serious sin as described in the Ten Commandment, the first and the second commandment, not worshiping God but worshiping idols. According to what God commands, they would be punished to the third and fourth generation. Here in this passage, we see the love and grace of God to start everything again. Giving them a second chance.

Let's see how Professor John Goldingay says:
(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Goldingay) :

The Israelites have imperilled their relationship with God, with potentially fatal results.  That is symbolized by Moses' breaking the tablets inscribed with God's commands.  Those tablets were to be deposited in the sanctuary as a symbol of the relationship between God and people, but the people have broken the commands, and Moses has broken the tablets.  It is as if the relationship is over.  But God is prepared to start again, and reinscribing the commands on two new blocks of stone is an expression of that.

What I receive from Jesus today is like what is happening to a wedding:
1. The couple prepares to get marry.
2. The bride-to-be has an affair and the wedding covenant is broken
3. The groom-to-be forgives her sin and is willing to start a new covenant again and the wedding is ready again

Wow! Jesus asked me just a few minutes ago to turn to Revelation 19:6-9 and I can feel the glorious scene in this passage. Glorious!

He asks me and you one question:
Are you prepared to be my bride?

Then I heard what seemed to be the voice of a great multitude, like the roar of many waters and like the sound of mighty peals of thunder, crying out,
“Hallelujah!
For the Lord our God
    the Almighty reigns.
Let us rejoice and exult
    and give him the glory,
for the marriage of the Lamb has come,
    and his Bride has made herself ready;
it was granted her to clothe herself
with fine linen, bright and pure”—
for the fine linen is the righteous deeds of the saints.
And the angel said to me, “Write this: Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb.” And he said to me, “These are the true words of God.”

Dear Lord Jesus,
Help us to prepare ourselves to enter into an intimate loving relationship with you so that we can be in the wedding banquet when you come again. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.

Reflect on these questions:
1.  Are you living in a holy lifestyle according to God's commands?

2.  Are you prepared to be Jesus' bride when He comes again?
