Silence

1.   Put on your “brakes” and stop for a moment of silence
2.   Wait for God. Breathe deep for God's peace. Exhale your worries.

Praise and Thanksgiving

1.   Think through your day, all the times that made you smile
2.   Thank God for all those moments, and for all those people
3.   Open your heart to praise the Lord

       With a freewill offering I will sacrifice to you;
I will give thanks to your name, O Lordfor it is good.
                             Psalm 54:6

Confession and repentance

1.  Pray for the Holy Spirit to work in you:

“Dear Holy Spirit, shine your light into the places of darkness in my life. Show me my sins, everything that blocks me from encountering God. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”

2.  Through the Holy Spirit, examine yourself for a short silence and then pray:

"Dear Lord Jesus, thank you for dying on the cross for our sins and being victorious over death and sin. I confess my sin to you(pause, to tell Jesus what the Holy Spirit has shown you). Forgive my sins by your blood and help me follow you. Holy Spirit, fill me that I may be able to receive your gift to love God and His people. In Jesus Name I pray, Amen."

The Word (Leviticus 2:1-16)

English(ESV): https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Leviticus 2&version=ESV

“When anyone brings a grain offering as an offering to the Lord, his offering shall be of fine flour. He shall pour oil on it and put frankincense on it and bring it to Aaron's sons the priests. And he shall take from it a handful of the fine flour and oil, with all of its frankincense, and the priest shall burn this as its memorial portion on the altar, a food offering with a pleasing aroma to the Lord. "
“When you bring a grain offering baked in the oven as an offering, it shall be unleavened loaves of fine flour mixed with oil or unleavened wafers smeared with oil."
"And if your offering is a grain offering baked on a griddle, it shall be of fine flour unleavened, mixed with oil."
"And if your offering is a grain offering cooked in a pan, it shall be made of fine flour with oil."
                                        Leviticus 1: 1-2, 4, 5, 7

Let's have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through the passage of scripture we have just read. Offer this time up to Jesus as you listen to him, while listening to "Gabriel's Oboe"

My Listening
Leviticus chapter 1 starts with making Burnt Offering to God animals without defect. Here in chapter 2 talks about making Grain Offering to God to be of fine flour. What does God want to teach His people?

God's command is this: Offer to God the best and not the second class.

The funny and rather sad thing is that lots of Christians do not understand this. There are times when pastors come back to church in the morning they would find used and out of shape sofa, chairs, microwave, TV, tables, books and everything suddenly appear inside their churches and they do not know where did those things come from. Don't make your church a recycle depot!

Offer your best to God!  That's how God commands the Israelites and all of us to do!

Dear Lord Jesus,
Help me love you with my heart, soul, mind, and strength.  Please open my eyes to see your good gifts, and open my heart and hands to offer you my gifts.  In Jesus name we pray. Amen.

Reflect on these questions:
1. Have you given used and out of shape things to your church? Why? What have you learned today?

2.  Why it is important that God commands us to offer the best to Him? What does that mean if we do not want to offer our best to God?

Praise and Thanksgiving
