                            Psalm 117:1-2

Confession and Repentance (Subjective Shifting Devotion Method

1.  Pray for the Holy Spirit to work in you:

“Dear Holy Spirit, shine your light into the places of darkness in my life. Show me my sins, everything that blocks me from encountering God. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”

2.  Through the Holy Spirit, examine yourself for a short silence and then pray:

"Dear Lord Jesus, thank you for dying on the cross for our sins and being victorious over death and sin. I confess my sin to you(pause, to tell Jesus what the Holy Spirit has shown you). Forgive my sins by your blood and help me follow you. Holy Spirit, fill me that I may be able to receive your gift to love God and His people. In Jesus Name I pray, Amen."

The Word (Joshua 17:12-18:10)

Then the whole congregation of the people of Israel assembled at Shiloh and set up the tent of meeting there. The land lay subdued before them.
There remained among the people of Israel seven tribes whose inheritance had not yet been apportioned. So Joshua said to the people of Israel, “How long will you put off going in to take possession of the land, which the Lord, the God of your fathers, has given you?
                      Joshua 18:1-3

Let's have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through the passage of scripture we have just read. Offer this time up to Jesus as you listen to him, while listening to "Gabriel's Oboe"

My Listening
While Joshua was instructing those clans to divide particular segments of the country, there were quite a number of problems. One problem is that they had to fight to get their land even they got the segment. Then, it comes with one of the biggest human problems - procrastination.

Joshua said, "How long will you put off going to take possession of the land, which the Lord, the God of your fathers, has given you?"

Is this urge familiar? Is God saying to you now, "How long will you put off going to take possession of that thing I already give you? Why are you procrastinating?"

What is your respond to God's personal question to you?

Dear Lord Jesus,
Help us to have faith removing all our unwillingness and doubt that we will be no longer procrastinating those things you command us to do and to receive what you have already prepared for us. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.

Reflect on these questions:
1. Do you have this problem of procrastination?

2. Is there anything you need to do now so that you are no longer procrastinating?

3. What have you got from Jesus today?
