Silence

1.   Put on your “brakes” and stop for a moment of silence
2.   Wait for God. Breathe deep for God's peace and feel His presence. Exhale your worries.

Praise and Thanksgiving

1.   Think through your day, all the times that made you smile
2.   Thank God for all those moments, and for all those people
3.   Open your heart to praise the Lord

      The Lord will keep you from all evil;
             he will keep your life.
         The Lord will keep
your going out and your coming in
from this time forth and forevermore.

                       Psalm 121:7-8

Confession and Repentance (Subjective Shifting Devotion Method http://bishopsilas.blogspot.ca/2009/08/count-down-5-subject-shifting-devotion.html)

1.  Pray for the Holy Spirit to work in you:

“Dear Holy Spirit, shine your light into the places of darkness in my life. Show me my sins, everything that blocks me from encountering God. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”

2.  Through the Holy Spirit, examine yourself for a short silence and then pray:

"Dear Lord Jesus, thank you for dying on the cross for our sins and being victorious over death and sin. I confess my sin to you(pause, to tell Jesus what the Holy Spirit has shown you). Forgive my sins by your blood and help me follow you. Holy Spirit, fill me that I may be able to receive your gift to love God and His people. In Jesus Name I pray, Amen."

The Word (Judges 6:1-10)

English(ESV): https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Judges 6&version=ESV

The people of Israel did what was evil in the sight of the Lord, and the Lord gave them into the hand of Midian seven years.

When the people of Israel cried out to the Lord on account of the Midianites, the Lord sent a prophet to the people of Israel. And he said to them, “Thus says the Lord, the God of Israel: I led you up from Egypt and brought you out of the house of slavery. And I delivered you from the hand of the Egyptians and from the hand of all who oppressed you, and drove them out before you and gave you their land. 10 And I said to you, ‘I am the Lord your God; you shall not fear the gods of the Amorites in whose land you dwell.’ But you have not obeyed my voice.”
                      Judges 6:1, 7-10

Let's have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through the passage we have just read. Offer this time up to Jesus as you listen to him, while listening to "Gabriel's Oboe"

My Listening
It is so funny and sad! Yesterday we read how women and men being raised up to fight a good fight for God and they had peace for 40 years. Well, is 40 years too long to be good boys and girls? Too long, so they decided to be naughty boys and girls again!

Let's see how Professor John Goldingay tells us:

This has happened because the Israelites have behaved in a way that offends Yahweh.
It looks as if the Israelites don't realize that, and neither does Gideon. They cry out to God in the way they had done in Egypt when they didn't deserve the trouble they were in, and God speaks straight to them in return, apparently without sympathy, pointing out the way they deserve the mess they are in. It illustrates the free and straight way Israel and God can speak to each other. No words need to be minced on either side.

John Goldingay. Joshua, Judges and Ruth for Everyone. Louisville,KY: Westminster John Knox Press, 2011, p.108.

When they asked God, "Why?" God said, "Well, you deserve it!" Then what? We will know that tomorrow. But, what have you got today?

Are you good or naughty? Are you living out each day listening and obey or disobedience and rebellious? You won't know if you are disobedience and rebellious, just as those Israelites!

Rise up, women! Rise up, men!

God needs you to join His faithful people to become part of God's vast army to bring light, freedom and hope to this world!

This morning at 7a.m. we had 35 men and women came to our church to pray. Yesterday we submitted an offer to purchase a piece of land to build our new church and yesterday we started our 40 days prayer meeting. Please join us if you are in Vancouver area, Monday to Friday 7a.m. to 7:30a.m., Saturday 9a.m. to 9:45a.m. and Sunday 8a.m. to 8:20a.m. (Richmond Emmanuel Church, 7451 Elmbridge Way, Richmond, BC V6X 1B8) If you can't join us, please pray for us daily in this coming 39 days so that our eyes can be opened to see God's provision and enter into His preparation! Please see below three photos I took this morning (Day 2) for your prayers:

Dear Lord Jesus,
Lead us to rise up so that we can follow you, our Lord and King to fight a good fight for your Kingdom's sake.  In Jesus name I pray. Amen.

Reflect on these questions:

1. Are you faithful servants of God or just naughty lately?

2. Are you willing to listen to the call or do you choose rather to be naughty thinking that you are OK? How can you help those naughty men and women?

3. What have you got from Jesus today?

Today's Time with Abba daily reading that I recited loudly and copy the Bible is:
