Silence

1.   Put on your “brakes” and stop for a moment of silence
2.   Wait for God. Breathe deep for God's peace and feel His presence. Exhale your worries.

Praise and Thanksgiving

1.   Think through your day, all the times that made you smile
2.   Thank God for all those moments, and for all those people
3.   Open your heart to praise the Lord

I lift up my eyes to the hills.
From where does my help come?
My help comes from the Lord,
         who made heaven and earth.
                       Psalm 121:1-2

Confession and Repentance (Subjective Shifting Devotion Method http://bishopsilas.blogspot.ca/2009/08/count-down-5-subject-shifting-devotion.html)

1.  Pray for the Holy Spirit to work in you:

“Dear Holy Spirit, shine your light into the places of darkness in my life. Show me my sins, everything that blocks me from encountering God. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”

2.  Through the Holy Spirit, examine yourself for a short silence and then pray:

"Dear Lord Jesus, thank you for dying on the cross for our sins and being victorious over death and sin. I confess my sin to you(pause, to tell Jesus what the Holy Spirit has shown you). Forgive my sins by your blood and help me follow you. Holy Spirit, fill me that I may be able to receive your gift to love God and His people. In Jesus Name I pray, Amen."

The Word (Judges 4:1-3)

English(ESV): https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Judges 4&version=ESV

And the people of Israel again did what was evil in the sight of the Lord after Ehud died. And the Lord sold them into the hand of Jabin king of Canaan, who reigned in Hazor. The commander of his army was Sisera, who lived in Harosheth-hagoyim. Then the people of Israel cried out to the Lord for help, for he had 900 chariots of iron and he oppressed the people of Israel cruelly for twenty years.

                      Judges 4:1-3

Let's have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through the passage of scripture we have just read. Offer this time up to Jesus as you listen to him, while listening to "Gabriel's Oboe"

My Listening
Since this Monday I have been in Little Rock, Arkansas participating in the annual Clergy Retreat of the Anglican Mission. I woke up by Jesus at 2a.m. here in my hotel room in Little Rock, Arkansas to copy today's Bible passages and to be with Jesus doing my blog and podcast. Now is already 4:07a.m. And when I finished today's blog and podcast, it must be 5a.m.(Vancouver time 3a.m.)! There must be a reason for the Lord to do that!

Jesus reminds me this morning to turn to Joshua 1: 1-3:

After the death of Moses the servant of the Lord, the Lord said to Joshua the son of Nun, Moses' assistant, “Moses my servant is dead. Now therefore arise, go over this Jordan, you and all this people, into the land that I am giving to them, to the people of Israel. Every place that the sole of your foot will tread upon I have given to you, just as I promised to Moses.

What I received from Jesus this morning is that when Moses died, God had a leader to call. That leader, Joshua responded and the Israelites did what they could not do 40 years ago!

When Ehud died, God did not have a leader to call to or no one wanted to be a leader leading the Israelites just like how Joshua and Ehud did. And, they went astray and did what was evil in the sight of God again!

Rise up leaders! You got to be a good leader and got to lead!
God depends on you to lead His people to the Promised Land doing what is right in the sight of God!

Rise up leaders! You got to lead!

Dear Lord Jesus,
Help us to be willing to follow you so that we can lead your people to do the right things in your sight. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.

Reflect on these questions:
1. Can you see the difference through today's passage between having a leader or without a leader?

2. Is God calling you today to become a good leader to lead His people? Are you willing to lead? Are you capable to lead? How can you be willing and capable to lead?

3. What have you got from Jesus today?

Today's Time with Abba daily reading that I recited loudly and copy the Bible is:
