Silence

1.   Put on your “brakes” and stop for a moment of silence
2.   Wait for God. Breathe deep for God's peace and feel His presence. Exhale your worries.

Praise and Thanksgiving

1.   Think through your day, all the times that made you smile
2.   Thank God for all those moments, and for all those people
3.   Open your heart to praise the Lord

      Your testimonies are wonderful;
           therefore my soul keeps them.
         The unfolding of your words gives light;
it imparts understanding to the simple.
                       Psalm 119:129-130

Confession and Repentance (Subjective Shifting Devotion Method http://bishopsilas.blogspot.ca/2009/08/count-down-5-subject-shifting-devotion.html)

1.  Pray for the Holy Spirit to work in you:

“Dear Holy Spirit, shine your light into the places of darkness in my life. Show me my sins, everything that blocks me from encountering God. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”

2.  Through the Holy Spirit, examine yourself for a short silence and then pray:

"Dear Lord Jesus, thank you for dying on the cross for our sins and being victorious over death and sin. I confess my sin to you(pause, to tell Jesus what the Holy Spirit has shown you). Forgive my sins by your blood and help me follow you. Holy Spirit, fill me that I may be able to receive your gift to love God and His people. In Jesus Name I pray, Amen."

The Word (Judges 3:31)

After him was Shamgar the son of Anath, who killed 600 of the Philistines with an oxgoad, and he also saved Israel.

                      Judges 3:31

Let's have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through the passage of scripture we have just read. Offer this time up to Jesus as you listen to him, while listening to "Gabriel's Oboe"

My Listening
Yesterday we read a long passage, 19 verses. Today we just have one verse. This verse is very important and encouraging to us.

Let's see how Professor John Goldingay tells us:
(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Goldingay) :

God makes Shamgar son of Anat a person who delivered Israel. The name Shamgar is not Israelite, and Anat is the name of a Canaanite deity, so it is not too adventurous to infer that Shamgar was a Canaanite. The unfortunate Canaanites were being pressed from the west by the Philistines, and Shamgar evidently won a victory over some of them. Now the Philistines became Israel's own rivals and oppressors, so any victory over the Philistines could be seen as a means of God's delivering Israel. Thus, Shamgar was God's servant in this respect. While Yahweh forbade Israel from some forms of involvement with the Canaanites (specifically, from intermarrying with them) because of what this would do to their relationship with Yahweh, this did not stop Yahweh from using the Canaanites.

So, do you have any enemy lately? Enemy can be real people, sickness or any kind of attack. Do you know that God can use your enemy to help you?

Jesus reminds me of so many similar powerful incidents that He used my enemies to help me. He used my wife Michelle's leukaemia five years ago to pour down His blessings to Michelle, our family and our church. He used the attack of quite a number of people to me all through the past so many years to pour down His blessings to me, my family and our church. Yes, that is so real! God really used lots of our enemies to help us!

What I got from Jesus now is to remind me of the golden verse I copied from the Bible yesterday:

What a relief that can be for all of us!

Wow! God can use our enemies to help us!

Dear Lord Jesus,
Help us to know that we should not afraid of our enemy if we have any because you even can use our enemies to help us. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.

Reflect on these questions:
1. Have you experienced God used your enemy to help you? If you recall that memory, what kind of assurance have you got today?

2. What have you got from Jesus today?

Today's Time with Abba daily reading that I recited loudly and copy the Bible is:
Psalm 118:22-29
Jeremiah 37:1 -38:28
1 Timothy 6:1-21
Proverbs 25:28
