2.   Thank God for all those moments, and for all those people
3.   Open your heart to praise the Lord

Your word is a lamp to my feet
and a light to my path.
                       Psalm 119:105

Confession and Repentance (Subjective Shifting Devotion Method http://bishopsilas.blogspot.ca/2009/08/count-down-5-subject-shifting-devotion.html)

1.  Pray for the Holy Spirit to work in you:

“Dear Holy Spirit, shine your light into the places of darkness in my life. Show me my sins, everything that blocks me from encountering God. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”

2.  Through the Holy Spirit, examine yourself for a short silence and then pray:

"Dear Lord Jesus, thank you for dying on the cross for our sins and being victorious over death and sin. I confess my sin to you(pause, to tell Jesus what the Holy Spirit has shown you). Forgive my sins by your blood and help me follow you. Holy Spirit, fill me that I may be able to receive your gift to love God and His people. In Jesus Name I pray, Amen."

The Word (Judges 3:7-11)

English(ESV): https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Judges 3&version=ESV

And the people of Israel did what was evil in the sight of the Lord. They forgot the Lord their God and served the Baals and the Asheroth. Therefore the anger of the Lord was kindled against Israel, and he sold them into the hand of Cushan-rishathaim king of Mesopotamia. And the people of Israel served Cushan-rishathaim eight years. But when the people of Israel cried out to the Lord, the Lord raised up a deliverer for the people of Israel, who saved them, Othniel the son of Kenaz, Caleb's younger brother. 10 The Spirit of the Lord was upon him, and he judged Israel. He went out to war, and the Lord gave Cushan-rishathaim king of Mesopotamia into his hand. And his hand prevailed over Cushan-rishathaim. 11 So the land had rest forty years. Then Othniel the son of Kenaz died.

                      Judges 3:7-11

Let's have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through the passage of scripture we have just read. Offer this time up to Jesus as you listen to him, while listening to "Gabriel's Oboe"

My Listening
What makes Othniel to be the top leader leading all the Israelites for 40 years? Not that he is the younger brother of Caleb, but the Holy Spirit came upon him.

You think that filling with the Holy Spirit starts with Acts 2? No! It starts with the very beginning in Genesis and lots of places in the Old Testament. Can you feel the power of that just one sentence describing the Holy Spirit comes upon Othniel?

Let's see how Professor John Goldingay tells us:
(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Goldingay) :

The extraordinary nature of Othniel's achievement is an indication that God's dynamic and forceful spirit is at work.

John Goldingay. Joshua, Judges and Ruth for Everyone. Louisville,KY: Westminster John Knox Press, 2011, p.97.

What I received from Jesus today is one question to you:
Is God's dynamic and forceful spirit at work in you?

As you are reading now, the Holy Sprit has already come upon you. Receive ! Receive! Receive! Fill!

Come Holy Spirit, fill me and pour down your fresh anointing upon me now.
In Jesus name I pray. Amen.

Reflect on these questions:
1. How do you understand the power of Othniel? Where does it come from?

2. Are you ready to receive the filling of the Holy Spirit now? Have you already received just a moment ago?

3. What have you got from Jesus today?

Today's Time with Abba daily reading that I recited loudly and copy the Bible is:

Jeremiah 33:1 -34:22
