Silence

1.   Put on your “brakes” and stop for a moment of silence
2.   Wait for God. Breathe deep for God's peace and feel His presence. Exhale your worries.

Praise and Thanksgiving

1.   Think through your day, all the times that made you smile
2.   Thank God for all those moments, and for all those people
3.   Open your heart to praise the Lord

      The Lord is my strength and my song;
         he has become my salvation.
                            Psalm 118:14

Confession and Repentance (Subjective Shifting Devotion Method http://bishopsilas.blogspot.ca/2009/08/count-down-5-subject-shifting-devotion.html)

1.  Pray for the Holy Spirit to work in you:

“Dear Holy Spirit, shine your light into the places of darkness in my life. Show me my sins, everything that blocks me from encountering God. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”

2.  Through the Holy Spirit, examine yourself for a short silence and then pray:

"Dear Lord Jesus, thank you for dying on the cross for our sins and being victorious over death and sin. I confess my sin to you(pause, to tell Jesus what the Holy Spirit has shown you). Forgive my sins by your blood and help me follow you. Holy Spirit, fill me that I may be able to receive your gift to love God and His people. In Jesus Name I pray, Amen."

The Word (Joshua 20:1-21:45)

English(ESV): https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Joshua+21&version=ESV

43 Thus the Lord gave to Israel all the land that he swore to give to their fathers. And they took possession of it, and they settled there. 44 And the Lord gave them rest on every side just as he had sworn to their fathers. Not one of all their enemies had withstood them, for the Lord had given all their enemies into their hands. 45 Not one word of all the good promises that the Lord had made to the house of Israel had failed; all came to pass.
                      Joshua 21:43-45

Let's have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through the passage of scripture we have just read. Offer this time up to Jesus as you listen to him, while listening to "Gabriel's Oboe"

My Listening
Today's passage gives us to see how God acted to have His promise to Moses fulfilled. Do you have similar experience to see God's promise fulfilled?

Let's see how Professor John Goldingay tells us:
(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Goldingay) :

The last paragraph in Joshua 21 indicates that the Old Testament sees things in an analogous way. It makes clear that the Israelites are by no means in complete possession of Canaan. It also tells a sequence of stories about victories the Israelites won, and it takes these as more significant indications of the real truth about Israel's occupation of the land than the mere fact that there is much of the land still to be occupied…
God has determined to give Israel the whole land and has given a foretaste of that reality in the victories it has won, so God's giving the whole land can be spoken of as actual. In a while it will be actually actual. Faith gives substance to things that are literally still hopes (Hebrews 11).But it doesn't do so because you are whistling in the wind. It does so because you have some first fruits of the fulfillment, and can therefore trust God for the completion.

What a co-incidence we had today with the passage we just had. Of course, I do believe that this is not a co-incidence, but God's timing to encourage leaders of the pastors and leaders of Toronto Emmanuel Church, Richmond Emmanuel Church, Anglican Mission in Canada as well as Anglican Mission in the Americas. Yesterday we vividly saw one of our churches bought with $1 almost completed in Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada. Today we give thanks to the completion of the 1st phase of our project in our board meeting!

Today,  the seven board members of Vintage Garden were having a board meeting with Archbishop Yong, his wife Julia and some guests. Just one day before our Thanksgiving Eucharist of the completion of the first phase of Vintage Garden and our new church. And, today God gives us a promise that our second phase will be completed in His time.

I have attached 38 photos of today's board meeting and some related photos for your prayers and thanksgiving.

Dear Lord Jesus,
Help us to experience your great power so that we have faith to be sure that what we hope for in your promise will soon be fulfilled. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.

Reflect on these questions:
1. Can you imagine how the Israelites felt and experienced according to this passage? Have you experienced that before?

2. How can you pray for the gift of faith so that you know what God promise will surely be fulfilled?

3. What have you got from Jesus today?

Today's Time with Abba daily reading that I recited loudly and copy the Bible is:
Psalm 112:1-10
Jeremiah 12:1 -14:10
1 Thessalonians 1:1 - 2:9
