Today's passage reveals why Paul had that kind of faith and courage to bear witness under severe persecution.

Bishop N.T. Wright's says (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/N._T._Wright):

Once again, the moment of crisis becomes the moment of vision.  As in Corinth, so now in Jerusalem, the Lord stands by Paul.  These moments of realization, of clarity of inner sight, have been all-important for Paul, just as they have been for countless Christians ever since...And the word this time is encouraging indeed, and provides a key turning-point in Luke's plot.  Paul is not, after all, to die in Jerusalem.  His sense of vocation, to go to Rome, was genuine.  He isn't promised a comfortable ride.  But he will get there, and must do there what he has done here: bear witness.  And the word for 'witness', as we have seen before, is the word from which we get 'martyr'.

N.T. Wright. Acts for Everyone, Part 2. Louisville,KY:Westminster John Knox Press, 2008, p.170.

How would you feel if you hear Jesus telling you to take courage? Is that a big deal for you? Is that an important experience for you? Have you experienced that before?

Let's have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through the passage of scripture we have just read. Offer this time up to Jesus as you listen to him, while listening to "Gabriel's Oboe"

What I heard from Jesus today is: What did Jesus tell you recently?

What I received from Jesus is an interesting personal question. Did Jesus tell you anything before? Do you really have a personal relationship with Him?

If you have a real personal relationship with Jesus, then hearing him to tell you not to worry and to take courage is not a big deal. But, should be a kind of normal happening. For me, this kind of experience always happen when I got myself into worries. When I hear His comforting words, I can get through any kind of crisis or hardship.

So, what did Jesus tell you recently?

Dear Lord Jesus,
Lead us to have a constant conversation with you so that we know we are in your protect, care and love.  In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
