Bible Study

Today's passage gives us a dirty picture of how the high priest hired some barristers to win the case. We can see how Tertullus, one of the barristers used flattery as the opening and then gave an untrue charge against Paul.

How could God allow that to happen? How would Paul feel when he saw a group of barristers standing there trying to take him down? Do you think Paul would be think, "Oh my God, what are you doing now?"

There are at least two things we needed to know:
1. Paul was prepared by the Holy Spirit to face this kind of hardship and suffering according to Acts 21:4 - 14.

2. He had a very strong faith and a close relationship with Jesus.
3. He was well trained as a schola who had the ability to confront with such charge.

What have you got so far?

Let's have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through the passage of scripture we have just read. Offer this time up to Jesus as you listen to him, while listening to "Gabriel's Oboe"

What I heard from Jesus today is: Prepared for this crisis

What I received from Jesus is a reminder that God would never do something that we cannot face. He would give us enough preparation and perhaps training so that we can be able to face those difficult moments.

The problem is that whether we are willing to enter into God's preparation? Are you willing?

Dear Lord Jesus,
Lead us to have the willingness to enter into your preparation.  In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
