Today's passage is a list of the heads of the family of God's people. The most important words appears after the list as God acted as the Commander of an army to give an order to form a military formation. "Fall in!" How much do we understand we belong to the same military formation and need to fall in prove whether we are truly God's army.

Let's take a look at what Professor John Goldingay says (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Goldingay) :

Israel is part of God's family to whom God accepts family obligations.  Israel has been pushed into the position of a debt servant who has lost possession of his land, but it will get free from its servitude and get back to "its" land.
That will be the way God becomes God for Israel and Israel becomes a people for God.

John Goldingay. Exodus & Leviticus for Everyone. Louisville,KY: Westminster John Knox Press, 2010, p.33.

Do you understand you are part of God's family? Do you know when you are God's family you are also part of His army? When was the last time He call you to fall in?

Let's have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through the passage we have just read. Offer this time up to Jesus as you listen to him, while listening to "Gabriel's Oboe":  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jmax47l2hLU

The title I heard from Jesus today is: Fall in, soldiers!

What I receive from Jesus today is a reminder that we are part of God's mighty army. And, we need to be able to listen to our captains order so that we can be in a God directed military formation.

On the other hand, we belong to a list consisting of names after names of God's captains and soldiers. Have you been connected to those soldiers yet? Or, are you being disconnected from your division, isolated and ready to be slaughter by the enemy?

Who are our captains and generals? They should be those leaders above us in God's Kingdom ministry. We need to be willing to "fall in" and ready to do God's work to lead people out of Egypt into the Promised Land.

     Fall in, soldiers!

Dear Lord Jesus,
Help us to be willing to fall in when our captains and generals call us ready to fight a good fight for you.  In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
