Bible Study

When you read today's passage, what do you think? God killed all the first born of Egyptians no matter man or animal. Then, God commands the Israelites to consecrate to Him every firstborn male to be for God's service.

Why God wanted them to do this?

You should know that it is just one of the requirements to be God's people. Do you know how complicated it could be to immigrate from another country to US or Canada. Many requirements and documents! Even if a priest who wants to transfer to AM-Canada under me as his/her bishop, there are lots of requirements and documents. Why? People should know why because that's what they want and everything is for their own good and the benefit of that nation.

How are those commands in this passage to you?

Let's have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through the passage we have just read. Offer this time up to Jesus as you listen to him, while listening to "Gabriel's Oboe":  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jmax47l2hLU

Spiritual Journal

The title I heard from Jesus today is: What does God wants you to do

What I receive from Jesus today is a call to get back to the most simple and basic relationship with Jesus. That is listen, obey and worship.

Michelle and I saw how the Israelites still observe verse nine when we were in Jerusalem two years ago. They really have the signs on their hands and on their foreheads. It is a little bit funny, but that's how God trains His own people of listen, obey and worship. That's how lots of Christians do not dare to listen, obey and worship and that's why so many Christians have not experienced the power of God or even do not have a personal relationship with Jesus.

I just had a sharing with our elder son Ignatius when I was writing this spiritual journal. Because I aware that both Iggy and me are the first born in our family. You know that funny thing is that my grandmother wanted to have my mom to be a pastor in the '40s but my mother asked God, "Not me. It is too hard for me. I'll give you my first born." Well, what she said seventy years ago God credited at least to two generations already, that's me and my son!

So, what does God wants you to do? You won't know unless you have a personal relationship with Him. Even if you know, you would most probably not do what God wants you to do because it is usually beyond what you can do. My experience is, to pray for confirmation then do it by faith. Start with your daily devotion and tithing, if you can't do these two things, you would most probably miss His next command because you are not willing to be trained and passed the first grade! If you pass your first grade, then God will give you a tougher test, and another. Each one will surely bring you to the next level that you can do better Kingdom ministry for God and to receive much blessings!

Dear Lord Jesus,
Help us to be willing to train by you so that we know what you want us to do and do what you want us to do.  In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
