Don't underestimate these seven verses. Because there are lots of important things we can learn from these seven verses.

Let's take a look at what Professor John Goldingay says (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Goldingay) :

The way they then complain about their food supply suggests they have learned nothing. Indeed, things have gotten worse, and time has given a rosy glow to their life in Egypt compared with the reality Exodus has described: "You brought us out of Egypt to starve us to death." "It's God you're complaining about, not us.  God will act so spectacularly, it will show it was God who brought you out, not me," Moses and Aaron reply.
The concrete way the provision of food will test them is that it will come daily except at the weekend…This puts them into daily reliance on God…How could you risk not having enough to live on by doing nothing one day in seven? It makes no economic sense.  That is part of the story's point.  Sense lies in trusting that things will work out if we do what God says.

Any of those issues in today's passage get your attention?

Let's have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through the passage we have just read. Offer this time up to Jesus as you listen to him, while listening to "Gabriel's Oboe":  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jmax47l2hLU

The title I heard from Jesus today is: Things will work out if you trust what God says

What I receive from Jesus today is a kind of deep reflection from the disobedience of those Israelites:
1.  They learn nothing even after lots of God's miracles and provision
It is impossible that the Israelites could have that kind of grumbling, complaining and distrust after all they had experienced. The sad thing is, we are not so much better than those Israelites. How can we really learn the lesson to trust God totally?

2.  They do not trust God's daily provision or no provision
That is such a wonderful test for the Israelites to learn God will provide daily. And, when it is not daily they had to collect double on the sixth day so that they had enough on the seventh day.

3. Things will work out if you trust what God says
What God trained those Israelites and us are the same. It is the same principle. The problem is lots of people do not even have the ability to listen to God's command. And, for those who are able to, most of them are not obedient!

Dear Lord Jesus,
Lead us to experience the power of listen and obey and that things will surely work out if we trust what you command us. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
